You have the exception (maybe) to the rule.

Tacomas are the best selling midsize for a reason. The Nissan's have no where near the fit and finish that the Toyotas have.

with that argument that you just made, I can tell you that because I know a guy with a 80 something diesel mercedes that has never had a problem and has a half million miles on it, then it is better than other cars and nobody complains about it. I can go more into detail about it, but it won't make a difference.

IMO, you should appreciate the truck you got FOR FREE, or you should let your dad sell it and then you can work hard to buy whatever you want. You know what I mean?

Just be happy with what you got, you need to be grateful, I haven't seen my dad in 23 years let alone get a dollar from him.

interesting. i bet you they realized that they couldn't be charging more for a less capable truck and still sell well.

note: i'm not saying frontiers are not capable, just slightly less than a tacoma when both are stock. that kind of stuff just happens when a 3 inch lift gets you to the stock height of the competitor.

I like the new Frontiers just cuz I see the potential in every vehicle. I'm not biased I know what I like and why.

But the one and only real major advantage that the NEW Frontier has is that you can use the front end of the Titans suspension and have a cheap mid travel set up.

Tim, arent the Michelens street tires though? Yes, I know what you mean

Colin, I know what you mean about the capability. Frontiers dont have the ground nor the mods as a Taco. I will say one thing, the 4x4 system in them are really nice/smooth. When we had the rental Pathfinder last year in WY we were on a mountain road for 35+ miles in 4x4. You couldnt feel the clunk when going from 2wd to 4wd. Plus it did good up and down the mountain.

Tim, last weekend I saw a Dodge Dually Resistol Edition with a Cummins. On the tailgate it said Mercedes Blue Tech. How can it be both?

Yes but I would bet they would out perform every AT out there.

Also, strength wise, Nissan can not compare to Toyota when it comes to transmissions, transfer cases or axles.

agreed, the frontier was a very close second to the tacoma when i as looking. like you seaid about the fit and finish, it's just not up to par. i hate to say it, but i think the deciding factor was the aesthetics of the interior.

I do thinks it's cool how you can swap control arms. after doing shocks, upper control arms, and gusseting the spindles, the lower arms and tie rods are all i'm worried about. wouldn't it be nice to swap in a set or tundra arms bolt for bolt. looks like TC arms for now......

I will have to talk to pops about the tires :)

IMO, I liked the tranny in the Pathfinder better than the one in my truck.

I don't know about the dana equivelant but it's a Toyota 8" axle.

I got a Dana 35 HD in the Titan which in my opinion is super weak for a 5500+lb truck.

I have come to the conclusion Im not a fan of fancy interiors. I really like the interiors of Jeeps and would personally rather have that kind of interior without the noises just the plain-ness. Leather is nice in some vehicles but it wears out and gets nasty esp. the lighter shades. I like cloth mainly the sport cloth. I'm picky when it comes to vehicles lol :D

True but I liked the straight up and down like a Ford  rather than all the left right up and downs like ours

^^^ that could be turned into something dirty :D

I used to be bad man, like my old race Camaro had no A/C no P/S, no carpet, no backseats, no spare or jack all that jazz and it was fine when I was younger. But I will never ever drive another car without A/C.

There is something about the way that when you slam a door on a Toyota your ears pop because the fit and finish is so nice that made a lifetime customer out of me.

don't tsome of the jeeps use the 35 non-HD, with the lousy c-clips?

which is interesting because the t100 uses tortion bars. did the pickups and 4-runners do that as well? i've only ever wrenched on a t100, never a pre-taco or old runner

What do you mean? I know the Frontiers had a problem with radiator fluid leaking into the tranny back in 05 and 06 and a lil in early 07 but its been fixed. Other than that I havent heard any other problems with them.
