    Keep the Utah crew in the loop. Many of you may have seen that Menlove Toyota recently got bought and is now Toyota Bountiful. Well I’m sorry to report but it would seem that the customer service that many of us were accustomed to with Menlove may be a thing of the past.

    The venture shield (clear bra - $550) that I had installed when I purchased the vehicle and was told that if it ever tore, yellowed or peeled they would replace no questions asked. Well that day has come, I got a tear in the shield and because of the ownership change at the dealership they are now outsourcing things like the shield. They guy I have been working with at the dealership has been great to work with but I get the feeling he is losing the fight to help me get the issue resolved.

    I hope they will honor what was told to me when I bought the truck. If not I will take my future Toyota purchases to another dealership. Note my wife is in the market for a new Toyota…

    I’ll keep everybody posted on my experience with getting this resolved.

    Tear above the driver front fender.

    Of course I dont know what the Forest Service plans are, but according to http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/sntl-data0000.jsp?site=820&days=7&state=ut its looking pretty melted on, what I assume, is the cold side of Timpanogos Divide

    Snowbird (9640) and Brighton (8750) are also losing about 1-2 inches a day it looks like
    http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/site?sitenum=766&state=ut
    http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/site?sitenum=366&state=ut

    I dont see it being too long till AF is open.

    One problem I heard about though... There's this huge boulder (Jeep sized) in the middle of the road somewhere on mineral basin road. Still no info about the conditions of Forest Lake.

    Sound like an opportunity to test out some winches and snatch blocks....

    That's what I like about you. Always prepared and ready to go whenever possible.

    I really need to figure out my schedule for the summer. July for me is usually pretty crazy with lots of birthday’s and holiday’s. But I will always do what I can to make a TW meet.

    I am familiar with there :D
    Two weeks ago me and my buddy took this side trail that originated not far from little moab that jumped us up over these mountains into valley that slowly turns into south 5 mile.... we camped in the mountains part but if people wanted to hit little moab we could essentially do that backwards ... ?

    JULY 29/30 works better for me

    I've seen the picture .. its bigger than a jeep, about the size of small moving truck/ 2 full sized hummers stacked. they are working on getting rid of it though but the struggle is the road up can't support large equipment. but hopefully its down to the size of a jeep now they showed me that picture two weeks ago.

    One of the main guys in the Utah County Cycling group down here spoke with the forest service today and they said they don't see the Alpine Loop opening up "before the 26th". I don't know if this applies as well to the road to Mineral Basin/Forest Lake, but I don't really see that one opening up before the actual paved loop.

    If interested in that road me and my buddy took, roughly playin on google maps and paint
    i drew up the line we took - NOT EXACT but ROUGHLY close.
    Google says from start to end is close to 25 miles and about an 1.5 - 2 hour drive
    i would kinda agree with that, though we kept taking detours
    [IMG]
    A = 5 Mile area
    B-F = long stretch of dirt road that looks like 5 mile still
    G-I = mountains / plenty of area to play
    J = dirt road
    K-M = Little Moab

    This is a clip from my market commentarty today at work.

    "The strangest point of the day for me came when I was watching coverage of Greece on CNBC where crowds were burning cars, smashing windows, starting bonfires all in protest.... and then realizing that is actually was Vancouver... and this is what happens in Canada when a Hockey team from Boston comes to British Colombia and wins the Stanley Cup in Game 7. The pictures are unbelievable...

    Stay classy Vancouver. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/06/16/photos-riots-fire-destruction-after-vancouvers-loss/"

    Here are a few of the pics. They really don't like losing at hockey.
