    Hey Jesse...
With all the things you say you like like the simple interior, straight shifter, the way the doors close, just get a 1st gen.
I got all that jazz in mine and it still shifts like new.

Tell you what...I'll sell you mine if you make me a nice offer :D

I will tell you this: I have always like the 1st Gens and have thought about getting one but I cant get over the seating position. I'd rather not sit so close to the floor. I'm picky when it comes to the way the drivers seat in a vehicle is (comfort). I hate driving my moms explorer because of the way the doors have the arm rest things with the window/lock controls. In the Explorer I habe to have my legs closer together instead of spread like in my truck.

you know that one of the biggest complaints about 2nd gens is that you sit too close to the floor.....

Yea I was going to say I think a lot higher in my truck then the few 2nd gens I've been in. And I don't have that power nonsense on my door panel. I have the seat one position up from all the way back but that's because of the speaker box so I choose that but I still don't have a problem with leg room and I'm taller than you. If you come to Orlando this weekend, I'll show you.

Does your truck have a banner on the windshield? That says fear something?

EDIT: Nvm, looked through your gallery, yup walked right past your truck and checked it out for a bit man. Fogs and step bars look good dude.

And I thought the game sucked, lol.

I think the seats suck... no back support odd to explain. But paul told me the trd seats are different and if I get them i'll be happy just havnt found a set yet.

flowmaster 40 american thunder series baby!

i've never driven a first gen, and i always feel funny riding in the passenger seat regardless of the vehicle, so i can't really contribute. i jsut know that the 2nd gen seating position is disliked by most of the car review sites, magazines, etc.

i'm probably just used to it, but i love the position in my truck.

the reason they are "low" is also the reason tacomas have more ground clearance stock than pretty much any other vehicle. our heads are at abotu the same heigh at everyone else, however they've raised the floor, and therefore the frame, up higher.

this is true. i feel like i'm in a recliner in mine. i'm still 100% comfortable after the 16 hour drive from florida to virginia. and the side bolsters are awesome offroad. they really hold you still while you're tossing around compared to a normal bucket seat.

Agreed about the sides holding you in. When I rode with Colby at the All Florida Meet in Orlando back in August the TRD seats were much better.

people seem to either love or hate flowmaster as a whole.

these are the best exhaust sound videos i have of mine.....the little flyby in the first one is at between 3 and 6k rpm. and the little tail slide u-turn at the end of the second video is the lower end torquey sound it gives at about 1700 rpm. gotta turn it up to hear though becasue it was taken with a digital camera, not a video camera with a good mike.
and disregard the squeaky sound....that was actually a problem with my bumper that i have fixed since then.
