Hey guys, I had the harsh ride tsb done. Definitely lifted the rear.
But I noticed immediately after I left the dealer that there's a vibration in the steering wheel at 20mph (quick, slight, and definite vibration...too fast, it seems, to be a misbalanced tire for example). I'm aware of the tranny vibration tsb, but my truck was fine before the harsh ride was performed... is it just a bad alignment (part of the tsb though I question why), more driveline vibration due to stiffer suspension, or something else triggered by the tsb work?
    Any ideas?
    Grrr!
Oh also since new, I have a rear end vibration at the end of first gear before it shifts in to second (unrelated to my recent work because it was there before my tsb was done...). Anyone heard of this one?

What did they do to your truck for the harsh ride TSB? I put a couple hundred pounds in the back and it seems like I bottom out all the time.

Actually, the complete correct response is the OEM 3 leaf packs are swapped out for new 4 leaf packs and possibly new rear shocks depending on year and model or interpretation.

If you want to get the leaf spring Fix done, don't wait..
I waited too long. They won't do it to a truck w over 50K miles (I think)
When I went in I had about 75K on my 09. They would not touch it..

I had the rear leaf tsb done two days ago. But I still only have three leafs in the leaf spring pack, that's not right is it? Everything I read tells me it's supposed to be a four leaf pack. The part # on the pack is 48210-04551. Is this the correct replacement spring pack?

Going back to the dealership tomorrow to have them fix the fix.

On another note. Does anyone have a problem with a load clunk when they take their foot off the brake after coming to a complete stop? I get this once in awhile and am wondering if there is a tsb for this. Thanks

OK, so now we have a Toyota clunk to go with the Toyota tick. :(

I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row here. In anticipation of the dealership giving me a hard time about them installing the wrong leaf spring pack, does anyone know the number for Toyota in case I have to open a complaint with them. Thanks in advance.

I think the clunk you are referring to is the lunge felt when the AC compressor kicks in, as i understand it.

You need to call Toyota first and get a case # if you can. The dealer can't do anything if it's not under warranty. I have 86K on my 2008 and Toyota is taking care of 50% of the cost.

The dealer went to the Toyota factory guy. They gave me a more than fair offer, but it was still pretty expensive.
I just couldn't justify it. I can add the air bags for less $$.

You should take the initiative to call the company yourself and talk to them, but you did say you received a fair offer. I got an independant estimate and it came to about the same price as getting it fixed at the dealer. Although I'm not happy about having to do this kind of repair so early on my truck, at least Toyota is taking care of half. You need to get it done, right? Unless you can physically do the work yourself for a lot less.
