I need a prerunner bumber after cashing my truck last week

I need some fabricator recomendations. The closer to me the better.

Last Friday, before leaving for the desert, I got into a little fender-bender with a small SUV. His car was pretty messed up, mine is mostly cosmetic damage. My front bumper is destroyed though. I figure I might as well have someone fabricate a prerunner bumper than to have the stock one replaced. But, I don't know where to go or if there is anything specific I should look for or request. I don't feel like spending an arm and a leg either.

I called The Truck Shop in San Diego and they (kinda rudely) quoted me at $650 with no other details or options. ORW in Temecula quoted me at $450ish for a simple bumper and 650ish for a nice one built with the boxed uprights (he called them "horns") light tabs, and upper tube above the lights. The guy at ORW also said that Tacoma bumpers are a little harder to make because of the way everything behind the bumper is laid out.

Is this true and are there any other things I should keep in mind? Are there any shops or private fabricators that you guys recomend? Any tips or advice would help.

 

look up sick nick's fab on Facebook. His number is 714-865-6424. He does great work and is cheap. He has a couple pics of a taco bumper he fabbed on facebook.

Yeah they look good. I think I met your friend at a mod day meeting over a year ago before he had the bumper on it.

Didn't he make his own bumper? I thought he posted a build thread while he was making one for his truck

 

This is the style. HE quoted me at 350 for the bumper unpainted. HE can make them a little different if you prefer. They are bolt on or weld on bumpers.

 

It would be a bit of a drive for you, but Toys for Trucks in Hesperia does pretty good work. They turned my Lieutenant's F-150 into a complete expedition vehicle.

he told me he helped anthony build it. but now he wants to build a new one so it has a winch. thats how i got my hands on his old one
