Turbo's create a much higher backpressure on your engine too, they also are not without thier own version of parasitic drag on your engine. And yes I could spend hours going over Turbo technology, honestly I've just never had the time haha

The back pressure caused by the turbine is hardly noticeable unless you're trying to run the wrong size turbo for your setup. Anything extra causing drag via belt is a bad thing. Hence, most performance guys remove AC and possibly even power steering. Win = Turbo.

The most efficient supercharger setups utilize an intercooler. Without an intercooler the system is much less efficient.

Turbos without intercoolers are much less efficient too haha, both systems have their draw backs, and I've never seen the numbers but I'd be hard pressed to say the backpressure turbo's create is negligable. Just an educated guess. I work with turbines and compressors. We use turbines as pressure let down stations.

Did I say turbos don't use an intercooler?

The backpressure is negligible compared to the drag caused by the belt driven supercharger

Tell ya what. I'll do some more research into turbo's. But I stalk xr-u.com and everyone pretty much agrees S/C's are the way to go. Of course that IS biased towards our trucks specifically, not the technologies as a whole. Most of the knowledge i've learn performance wise comes from there and the tinkering me and friends have done.

Spend some time on www.nasioc.com. That's where I learned a lot of the magic of Turbos

Both systems have positive and negatives as with any. The Supercharger is raw power thru out the rpm range. The turbo can produce more power from a smaller displacement engine then a super charger would being the reason that alot of import tuner use them. The diesel industry has used them for a long time due to the fact that they are said to be more efficent. The supercahrger complements a large displacement engine more like a scoop of ice cream on a peice of cake. It all boils down to personal preferance an application.
