Try moving the wheel back and forth as you turn the key...sometimes the ignition "binds" up...

I had the same problem, but i got stuck at a gas station.

Its an easy fix and everyone can do it. Basically it sounds like your tumblers are toast. If thats the case, you need to see if you can turn the key into acc. position. Once you do that you need to remove the bottem panel and locate the ignition cylinder. All you do is, push a button and pull out the cylinder and key. Then either buy a new one from toyota, or get one from a scrap yard.
    Hope this helped

You need a new one forsure. Call up your local scrap yard/towing company, and ask for an ignition cylinder. I got mine for $50 and put it in in 2 hours. Make sure you are able to put the key in and turn to acc. Or else its a hell of a job to take the old one out.

Do you have a diffrent key? Maybe your key is wore out, mine did used my wifes key and its fine. Try that before you change the ignition. If you dont have another key go have a copy made, sometimes the copys are a little larger than the worn ones.

Yeah, thats probly a good thing to try first. I tried my spare when i happened to me and turned out the tumblers were really done. You can tell if the tumblers are going when you put the key in and try to turn, sometimes it would catch for a second.

Nice truck by the way ^^^ I always wanted the black one.
