Gettin' a little warm in Sac today. I think winter and the snow is over, finally! (aside from T-storms which can drop snow up there any day of the year)

Have to remember to point my passenger headlight down a little more since I raised the front up. Guess it's not an issue for you, Steven, since you added the AAL at the same time.

Yeah, this is the time of year it's really good to live where I do. I turned the AC off in the truck around Apple Hill. 90's in Sac, 70's at home. At least I only have to suffer heading down there two days per week.

Anywhere in El Dorado county. It's legal to shoot up there

That's a bit of a hike. But i'll remember it next time we go wheel up there.
You just find a trail off the highway and go shoot or what?

Pretty much, yeah. Just make sure it's into a hillside or somewhere safe otherwise the Rangers will shit if they catch you

Yep, it's even legal to shoot in our subdivision:eek:. MET is a big place to go shooting. Bonetti Rd comes into MET just a couple miles east of the dams. And even closer to the freeway is Park Creek Rd off of Sly Park Rd (2-3 miles from the freeway).

So the family and I took a trip up Hwy 88 today (came back via Tahoe). Decided to see how much snow was at the top of MET and there's anywhere from 4-5 feet. Kept going up and over Carson Pass (Caples Lake is still 99 percent frozen...this is the one everyone ice fishes on in the winter). And because the snow on the eastern side of the pass is hit or miss, we took a trip up toward Crater Lake and the Mine to see how far we could go (This is the one that a 2wd should be able to do). Got within 50 feet of where the road splits to go to the mine vs lake. There was a 1st Gen white x-cab parked in the way where the snow began. Snow was up to 6 feet deep in the direction that went toward the lake.

Attached are two pics. First pic is just as you get started off of Hwy 88 (which you can easily miss if you don't know where it is), and the second pic has the road and mine outlined in red (click on it for the larger view to see the road outlined). Great view of the whole valley from up there. My wife's wanting to go back to get more pictures from up there and my daughter found a piece of silver on the ground.
