I recently purchased an Access Tonneau Cover for my '05. I installed the cover and looks great, however there is 1/2" gap between the cover and the top of the tailgate. Upon speaking with the people from Access, they said there wasn't any other model that would help with the problem. I then spoke with somebody from Toyota and he said that problem had occurred when Toyota installed a camper shell option they sell. According to him, they fixed the problem by attaching a piece of rubber to the door. Has anyone else had this problem? I would rather not have to apply a lot of weather stripping to close the gap. The current option I am looking into is buying a new tailgate cap that sits taller. The top of the tailgate itself currently sits 1/2" below the sides. My Dad has a '07 Tundra with an Access Cover and it looks great. What can I do to eliminate the gap?

    Lots baby!
I had a similar problem with my tonneau. I used a bulb type gasket. You will have to measure for your application.

Here is a link to some popular sizes.

I used something like a style 9, with a height of 1/4" ~ 3/8" over the height of my gap.

Just wanted to say thanks for a post that, 8 years later, is helping me with the same issue!
