Just wanted to update you guys. After researching a bit more I decided to pull the trigger on these Kickers from Crutchfield because of the great customer service, all install hardware free and free shipping, by one get one, so I got 4 speakers, and from what I read the majority of people that have these are happy. I'm excited and I think with the money I have left over I might deaden my doors! If I do, I'll do an install with pics! Thanks for all the help guys! :)

Only the high notes come from it, and the rest come from the speakers in the door. I covered the NON tweeter, and the sound had no highs. Uncovered, it was back to sounding fine. SO......Its a tweeter.

for your budget, i'd recomment a JL C2 6.5" component speaker. They sound great for the price and run great on lower rms

beleive it or not aftermarket JBL components are one of the best out there. i've installed many and the audio shop i work at is a huge rockford/JBL/JL dealer and they will tell customers straight up it's hard to beat the JBLs for the price. and they sound great with or without them amped

What is the RMS for the stock head unit?
I am also intrested in upgrading my front speakers but would like to first match them to the RMS of the stock HU.
