drive it around the block. Check reverse and all the normal things. most people would take $500 cash for something they are asking $800 for. But test drive it. Some things have the capability of turning into money pits. 4cyl or 6?

Under carriage rust? $500 doesn't buy much these says but maybe it will get you through the winter and then some.

you can't go wrong with that deal even if needs injectors. those trucks run forever and injectors can be found on a wreck in a junk yard somewhere. The only thing on those models to worry about is the timming chain. If the timing chain hasn't been replaced and it starts getting loose the chain will wear a hole in the timing chain cover which will allow oil and water to mix. I would check the fluids good and listen for the timing chain slap sound, if you hear it the repair at a mechanic shop should be around $400 or you can do it yourself for about $120.
