Sorry for the late reply. Yeah I followed instructions. The fairing does cut out a lot of the wind noise but not all. You get used to it after a while though.;)

Since the OEM rack does not fit on an Access Cab, I've been looking for something like this. I have the Thule system with the tracks on my cap, but nothing on the cab.

Did you install tracks on the cab also? If so, how?

    Thanks,

    GA

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
It is mounted onto the cross bar. The brand is Inno. It was the best available at the time. Yakima and Thule's require the round cross bars. Its worked out great actually.

I have the factory roof rack for my dc. Its nice but not all that sturdy. I carry a 15 aluminum canoe up there and i had to make a 2x4 rack that fits in between the factory one. With the weight on the canoe plus the force of the tie-down straps, it really sags the cross members to the point where they almost touch the roof. I tried to lighten up on the straps but then the canoe shifts around. So a simple ( H ) design made out of 2x4's is my heavy duty racks. I would go with the yakima's if I had a choice and the money.

You can deff. hear the difference when the OEM cross memebers are out. I get used to it, but with in a few days I end up putting them back into stowed postion. Pretty much annoying at highway speeds.

Ummmm, I bet you Yakima or Thule make one for the access cab. Just check out their websites. That's where I bought my Yakima rack.

Installed the Lowriders last night and they work great....Before I decided on this system I did some checking and closely examined a buddy's truck (Now written off!:() to make sure. The OEM rack's cross bars actually sit off thier cradles just enough for the towers to grab properly. After install last night I grabbed the bars and pushed and pulled so hard that the truck was rockin' and rollin' so I'm very confident my MTB will not pose a problem.....Yakima did not offer a "Factory roof rack" option in their rackfinder but this is tight.Picked up the proper sized fairing (38") today so that will go on tonight.I bought a 44" in NH last weekend but it was too wide to fit between the OEM rails....Anyone need a 44" Yakima fairing NIB?

HD,I intentionally drove around with the rack deployed yesterday and the crossbars do rumble....As far as when they are stowed,it's as if they are not even there.

I bought mine used for 220 from someone on the forums, but it included a set of snowboard rack that fits 2 boards. And yes they make snowboard racks for our factory racks. They attach to our shape of crossbars.

Another option is Yakimas "Mighty mounts" that adapt factory racks to their components.
