Anybody ever use their clutch start cancel?

my truck has a clutch start cancel button right beside the steering wheel. I know what its for but I've never used it.

 

I think once. When it was in my driveway... just to see wtf happens.

 

I use it all the time in the winter so I don't have to get in to start it and let it warm up.

I use it when working on other peoples trucks (mine doesn't have it). It's a lot easier to start it while working on it from outside instead of climbing in. Plus I'm lazy.....

Yeah. Engine compression to hold in position while in gear, then turn it over to start moving.

Doesn't work when you're stalled on a step that you need gas to get over.

I think the time you'd most want to use it would be a low traction surface when you didn't want to slip the clutch and risk triggering wheelspin on startup.

 

Use it all the time to start the truck. Put my stuff in on the passenger side reach over hit it and start it up.

 

I used it a few times in my FJ, if I stalled it on a hill 4wheelin in 4 lo just hit the button and turn the key and it wouldn't roll back just start climbing.

 

i use mine all the time. very helpful when offroading on a incline and cant push the clutch all the way .

 

Perhaps you need to move the driver seat forward a notch or two, also?

Every single time i start it.

 

fuck it. i never use mine. only unless i wanna start my truck w/o having to get in it. then i use it, which is sometimes 60% of the time, every time.

 

all the time. let the truck warm up before every use plus i'm that lazy.

i think i read somewhere that said not to use it unless the clutch was not disengaging or something to that effect. i used it once

 

I use it 20% of the time

 

So you start your truck with it in gear?
