it would still suck to know that someone that you've watched for over a decade had died

(Note:yes i know these examples are from more famous people than Dunn but the point is still valid)
did people morn chris farley any less because he OD'd on cocaine and morphine, both illegal for him to possess?

did people morn Janis Joplin any less because she OD'd on heroine, illegal drug?

or jim morrison, or elvis presley?

because someone died some way doing something that wasn't acceptable doesn't change how they have effected people's lives while they were living...yea he was doing dumb shit with other jackasses but those who grew up watching cky and that crew liked the guy and what they were doing in society

Some people have no respect. Especially some of you older guys. Act your age.

Yes he died being a fuckin idiot, but he still died young and suddenly, and that is sad no matter how he went out. RIP.

Too bad he killed somebody with him... Glad he didn't kill anybody outside of his car. When somebody who CLEARLY has the means to pay for a cab kills himself doing 100+ MPH drunk off his ass, I don't generally feel too bad for him.

Again, just thankful that he didn't hit anybody else.

If you VALUE life, then the loss of even one, although inevitable, is a tragedy. The really sad thing here is Ryan's actions indicate he didn't value his own life let alone the life of his passenger or anyone who may have been on the road that night. I do believe that good can come out of any tragedy. In this case, as in so many others like it, the good should come form pointing out that irresponsible behavior often has severe personal consequences and may well have collateral consequences. Lauding Ryan for irresponsible behavior will only serve to encourage those who have not yet learned the value of life or who have been hardened through unfortunate circumstances and have a distain for any life, to mimic this catastrophic behavior. My 2 cents:

I enjoy watching Jack-Ass because it amazes me how dumb they can be, and how rich they got for being dumb. No pun intended, but you live fast you die fast, and drinking and driving (no matter how much, drunk or not) can hit the fast forward button on life. No excuse, thank god that mini van full of children wasn't involved. The way these guys lived, it was only a matter of time.

I also thought how unclassy Bam was on Roger Ebert, and Ebert wasn't totally in the right either. If these Jack-Ass guys want to come out of this and still have a career (if you want to call it that) they should mourn in silence, and not get into twitter wars about this incident.

The way this incident went down is going to draw a lot of heat. People with fame tend to think they are invincible, and laws don't apply to them, except the law of physics.

    None yet.
I think there is one differentiating factor between your examples. Those people were mostly entertainers doing something other than how they died. People liked them for their music or their comedy, not for their substance abuse. Most of the video 'tributes' I've seen show Dunn acting/looking either drunk or wasted and then doing something dangerous that could hurt or kill him. That's what he seems to be 'famous' for. I think that the violent reaction that some people are having to such criticism may be because they don't want to admit that by making this jackass famous and rich for doing these things, they really contributed to his death in a way. If I mourn Jimi Hendrix, I also curse him for his substance abuse since it was wasting his natural talent in such a way.

I agree with you but People killing themselves with drugs is totally different than someone cracked out and drunk killing innocent people minding their own
biz.it is sad and let's be grateful he didn't take any innocent people.
On a side note.anybody want to start a pool to see who is the next jackass to die? :D
