“Moparized” Jeep and Ram Truck Vehicles Debut at Moab Easter Jeep Safari

Earlier this month, Chrysler’s Mopar division said it would unveil its annual batch of unique off-road Jeep and Ram truck concepts during the annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari in Utah. With the Safari underway and the covers unwrapped, we now have full details on eight “Moparized” Jeeps and Ram trucks.

The eight vehicles are six one-off image models and two are near-production-ready vehicles. The image vehicles represent Mopar’s best “no holds barred” efforts and include five Jeeps and a Ram Power Wagon. Here’s a breakdown of each vehicle at the Moab Safari:

Jeep Nukizer 715

The Nukizer 715 pays homage to the military-spec Kaiser M-715 truck from the 1960s and is a customizer’s dream. Mopar took a military-issue, four-door J8 and extended the wheelbase an extra 8 inches from 116 to 124 inches. The truck box was sourced from AEV and the front end was completely altered with a new front clip to resemble the M-715. The drivetrain has also been beefed up with heavy-duty axles and custom driveshafts. Engine and weight: VM Motori 2.8-liter turbodiesel inline-four and 4500 pounds

Jeep Patriot Extreme

To earn its Extreme designation, this “Moparized” Patriot was fitted with a Trail-Rated off-road package, a 2-inch Rocky Road Outfitters lift kit, TJ Moab 16-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich KM2 tires, and a wild Sunburst Orange paint scheme. Custom rock rails and skid plates offer protection in the wild. Mopar also added a Kicker sound system, heavy-duty slush mats, and a roof-mounted snowboard carrier. Engine and weight: 2.4-liter inline-four and 3332 pounds

Jeep Wrangler J7

The J7 is based off a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and inspired by the military-spec J8 available overseas. A Mopar 2-inch lift kit and 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires on 17-inch steel wheels assist off-road capability, while front and rear steel bumpers, a heavy-duty tailgate, and helicopter hooks address functionality. Special J7 graphics complement the Mustard Plug paint job. Engine and weight: 3.8-liter V-6 and 4482 pounds

Jeep Wrangler Trail Boss

The Wrangler Trail Boss is a transformed Wrangler Rubicon with a 3-inch lift kit and 35-inch tires that dramatically increase clearance. Additional modifications include everything needed for a day on the trails: half-door kit, sun bonnet, AEV off-road hood and bumpers, and a Warn 9.5ti winch. Engine and weight: 3.8-liter V-6 and 4350 pounds

Ram PowerWagon

This isn’t the currently available Ram Power Wagon. Instead, this is an off-road machine that features a special 120-inch wheelbase, a standard cab, and a stepside box. In addition to the rear link-coil suspension lifted from the Ram 1500, Mopar installed a 4-inch lift kit and 40-inch tires increase its road presence. Engine and weight: 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 and 6500 pounds

The General

This Wrangler’s main focus is rock crawling, meaning plenty of articulation was needed. A custom Mopar 4.5-inch performance lift kit, flat fender kit, 37-inch tires, and a lot of trail protection were added. The General sports a Mopar Blue exterior. Engine and weight: 3.7-liter V-6 and 4000 pounds

The remaining two vehicles could very well fit into Chrysler’s immediate lineup. The first “Moparized” ride is a high-speed desert racer inspired by trophy trucks.

Mopar Ram Runner

The Ram Runner is equipped with a dedicated full Mopar suspension that will be available later this year. Custom components include 3-inch Fox shocks, revised upper A-arms that allow for 14 inches of wheel travel, high-angle CV joints, and refreshed lower control arms. New springs, skid plates, and a six-point roll cage round out a package that would make for an interesting Ford SVT Raptor fighter.

Mopar ImMortal

Some of the world’s greatest off-road machines utilize portal axles and these military-grade components are fitted onto the Mopar ImMortal. The ImMortal is a customized Jeep Wrangler with portal axles, a transplanted 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, and loads of off-road protection. A 4:1 transfer case gives the ImMortal an intense 100:1 crawl ratio.

The ImMortal would be cool, but I'd HATE to see the price tag. You could probably have a local shop build you something like that cheaper.
