Lol... It works. It is not thebest setup. if i had to do it again i would have never bought the billys. since i had the billys that went on. If i was to do it again i would have got the ome nitros with the 886. At the time that is what fit my buget . Now i will be looking into something oon the higher end .

My deal was i wasn't going wheel. I just wanted alittle lift. Then tw came and now the truck will die with me. I caught the bug and i will pay extra to do it twice. To be honest i would have never paid 1500 for a set of coilovers, but now........ I am considering making the plunge. I think with these trucks you have to do it twice unless you have a shit ton of money to put out right off the bat.

Eddie, I know you are a little unsure about what you want to do with your truck, (in the last 24 hours you have mentioned buying a 4runner to build a trail rig, and buying a raptor), but think about what you want to be able to do with your tacoma. Do you think stokes is the only wheeling you will ever do with it? or do you think you'd want to come out to rausch creek with us and have some fun with some real wheeling? The way I see it, I want my truck to be built solid enough to handle any wheeling trip I go on. I dont want to find out in the middle of the woods of north carolina or out at moab or somewhere, that I should've spent the extra cash and gotten the top of the line parts.

Scott can talk shit all day about "rich" people spending tons of money on their trucks, but the truth is I'm no where near rich, and my truck is my main expense. I've opted to live at my parents house for minimal rent $ in order to be able to spend most of my money on my truck, building it to be able to handle whatever I decide to take it through.

Yes all the armor and offroad mods will make it get worse gas mileage, but thats not a huge concern. I still get what I consider decent mpg (16-19), and when I decide my truck should no longer be a daily driver, I'll either start riding the motorcycle year round, or Ill pick up a cheap commuter car.

I think I've wheeled with you enough and I remember the CO4LO videos you showed us to know that you want your truck to be sweet. I dont think you should go for the cheapest lift, but I do think adjustable coilovers (either toytec ultimate or icon, king, fox) would be a really good investment if you think you'll be adding a bumper and some skids

I did ts twice too. OME then coilovers. Nice the have the adjustability when you are tinkering with different weight set-ups. It's really hard to predict your truck will stay the same weight.

yeah josh, thats what im thinking. just putting alittle extra into it. i do want a rig that can go whereever i want it to. like you saw in those vidoes. i want to get a trip out to co with all us jersey guys and my buddies there will show us an awesome time. maybe even out in moab when they go, which they do every year.

and its like you said, i have a mortgage and a "family" to worry about, so i need to make sure that when i do invest int he vehicle, its right. and like you said about gas mileage, i get 60 onthe bike, so im good, plus when gena gets her 4runner, it will prob get inthe 20's im sure. if not more by the time we are ready to get it. the tacoma will eventtually be a rig capable of handleing anthing. and not a daily driver.

i know others post about doing a locker first, but i dont yet wheel hard enough to need a locker, and if i do wheel hard, i rather have protection from damage rather than the ability to get out of a jam. i mean, there is always someone there with straps or a wicnh :)
