So... i know i want to go LT and in august ill have about 3ish grand to spend on my truck. Ive heard that you should go LT in the rear first rather than the front but i was thinking of maybe going LT in the front. Is the really only reason people go rear first because the rear can kick up on you? I know you guys know what you're talking about so i thought id ask the people who know what theyre doing rather than my frineds haha.

the rear is the limiting factor because it has little up travel and tends to start bucking when at speed which means your drive tires lose contact with the ground and makes it difficult to keep control of the truck and decent speeds

that why people say do the rear first, but you need to have at least a mid travel front end to make this worth while. a LT rear and stock front end would be pointless

also, $3K will not get you a LT front... $3k will only get you the kit, you still need shocks, fenders, gussets, tires, install

im going to try and buy used and not new to keep the cost lower. i heard that the local junkyard here in SLO will give you 600 for both front fenders and glass is 550 so thatd be paid for. im not sure what they would take for the rear finders. If i do end up doing the rear first, i would like to keep amajority of my bed space so i can still haul my bike around. i look at the giant kit that bolts up and just has a little bed cutting. so what ideal would be is that to go mid travel in the front and full LT in the rear from what you told me. i was with jason (jberry813) and he had mid in front and full LT in the rear and it seemed to said most things up pretty good.

There is only 1 aftermarket nonlong travel UCA for the 05+ 5 lug, TC and it is stock length. Also unless you have long travel the length of the arms dont change. They have to be proportional to each other or you would never have a proper alignment again.

I just looked at my tags that came with my shocks. They say 12f 20, 12 rebound. Is 12 12f 20, 12 a typo or is there something to the double 12?

You should see if the truck shop can build you a set using hiem joints instead of bushings.

hey stupid question... looking at my truck from the back, the driver side is clearly sitting lower than the passenger side. Is that what is referred to as the "taco lean" or do I need to adjust my springs up front? I am assuming the latter

It is kinda hard to tell from the picture, but I assure you it is lower on one side

With coilovers you should be able to adjust some of the lean out of it. But I dont have LT rear so Im not sure how much of that lean is coming from the rear too. Measure from the ground to fenderwell at all 4 wheels and see how far off it really is

Edit: Oh yeah you dont have rear fenders yet. Not sure how to measure those lol

I can measure from the frame in the rear. Even before I put the rear on, it was still leaning so I have a feeling its the front. Looks to me like loosening the passenger side might be the way to go, but i'll do the measurements first

My truck does the same. The lean is because the gas tank is on that side. its something that honestly you will have to just deal with it. You can adjust the front but the rear will still sag. LT leafs are a lot softer then normal ones so they tend to do that. They are not designed like a OEM replacement pack that factors in the gas tank on one side. you could add a fuel cell and the would balance it all out better.
