My drivers side rear door lock is not working. I have checked all wiring and believe the problem to be the door lock actuator. Does anyone know how to replace it or had the same problems?

I know I know this post is nearly a year old..... But no one told him much, and I have the exact same problem with the drivers side back door on my 2005 Tacoma.
I was told it would be a $500 fix at the dealership...... Is like to save some money!
Anyone have pics, YouTube video or good info on do it your self?

    Thanks!

The day I posted this thread i was looking over paperwork and found my warranty expired in 2 days. I took it to the dealer that day and they fixed it. It was a bad switch.

I hope someone can help you...

Thanks! Yeah I'm sitting at the dealership right now for other stuff but don't wana pay $500 for a door I dont use that much anyway. Worst case I'll just unlock and lock that door by hand when I need to use it!

Subbed. My driver's door is also acting up. The remote needs to be clicked 4 times for the lock mechanism to fully lock the door. I took the door panel off, cleaned & lubed the cable by the door lock & seems to be working better. I still would like to know how to get the actuator out to clean or replace it.

Dead due to a takedown notice. :(

I don't see any pertinent threads. Anyone else have a link to a how to, to clean the actuator?

What do you mean by a "bad switch"?

I recently noticed my rear driver's side door lock will not lock or unlock electronically.
