or just put a little tension on it and a few whacks with a hammer should break it loose.

the pic is of just the reciver tube welded to the support structure........ not the actual draw bar insert.

the draw bar doesn't stick out the back of the reciver ............. so like everyone else has said the draw bar is rusted in and is just stuck.

Yeah, I think I just need to figure out another way to get it out. I've dumped almost a whole can into it so far, but no luck.

I'm guessing that'll take a lot of heat, a BFH, PB Blaster and lot of choice 4-letter words to remove. It took us almost 3 hours to get the ball mount of my neighbor's receiver when his rusted in. Good luck!

I know folks who spot weld the ball on the mount to prevent just undoing the nut. It's a preventative method when towing trailers with sleds & atvs where I live to encourage thieves to move along to another when parked at motels or parking lots.

Can't say whether the OP's receiver is & as the other suggestions probably rusted in there.

its just stuck in there from all the rust.

Spray some lube, bang it from each the side with a sledge hammer, then connect a chain to the ball and a tree and slowly pull on it.

    neglect, mostly.
hadn't thought about that. not a bad idea actually OP. though i would have someone back there spotting you to keep you from slamming into it when it broke free. it still seems like a good amount of WD-40 and a hammer would do the trick.

Well if he hits it square, he shouldn't have to worry about hurting the bumper, even if it did breaks free. The rise bar will hit the sleeve and it won't go further.

Maybe you should look at this a different way.

Why don't you just leave it in there and add a hitch pin?

It won't come out, so you know that no one will steal it.

If you want to tow something, you'll know where your ball is.

If you get rear-ended, it will offer some protection to your bumper and sheet metal.

It appears to me... that the OP is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Some states it's illegal to have the ball hanging off the back with nothing attached. Some members of this site actually informed me of this, I had no idea such laws existed...
