Fresno is 5 hours north from me. I'm about 30 mins south of L.A. in Orange county.

We did talk about doing rear steer in this truck at first, but now with the crawler, it has so much control that I don't think it would be worth all the trouble to put it in.

what exactly is the crawl ratio i have a sense of what it is that, you crawl slower with a higher first number but what does it mean how are the numbers measured

It's really neat seeing all the stuff that goes into making one of these machines!! I think I've convinced myself that if I have any problems with the IFS on my truck it's gone!

If i'm not mistaken i think to determine your crawl ratio you multiply the 1st gear ratio in the tranny times the low range ratio in the t-case times the axle ratio in your truck. Obviously with a 2nd tcase it can me made much lower by multiplying the extra low range gear ratio in that as well.

The reason I went with a dbl cab over the reg ab is very simple. For me the dbl is much more practicle. It has more space for extra passengers and I have kids and lots of friends that want to ride along and I just think it looks better.

As far as the portals go... I think they are a big waste of time and money. With the articulation I get I can go anywhere a simular portal axled vehicle can go, mine is not as expensive for the same strength and I don't have to worry about all that extra weight in the front. I've got enough of that already. Not to mention if something does break where am I going to get extra parts fast.

Here are some of the smallr mods I did.

These are te switches for the ARB lockers and ther compressor.

These are the volt meters that moniter my dual optima batteries. the switch in the middle is a battery isolater. It lets me choose between the two batteries, or allows me to use both at the same time.

These three switches are for the rock lights and the rear amber lights.

With all the torque this truck has I had to add a track bar to stop the rear axle from wrapping.

Since I have he sport model, it didn't come with a skid plate and I needed something super strong. I called up Bud at Budbuilt and he fixed me right up.

I first had to go to Toyota and order these straps that have the studs and nuts so I had something to bolt the plate too.
