Misfire Cylinder 3 Running Rough

If the gas cap is more than 4yrs old, replace it.

 

Cool keep us posted. And like said above, replacing the fuel cap would be first on the list to diagnose the P0441

 

Here it is!!! I swaped the cylinder 2 injector with the cylinder 4 injector, after about 10 miles the check engine light came on. Later on I checked the codes and here is what I got:

P0304 (cylinder 4 missfire)
P0171 (system too lean)
P0130 (O2 circuit malfunction)
P0133 (O2 Sensor check slow response)

Now, the P0304 seems to give me hard evidence that I had a bad injector because the missfire followed the injector. The three other codes confuse me because I haven't gotten them before and the only thing I changed was the injector????
So I think it makes most sense to change the injector, can anyone tell me if I need to change all of the Injectors or can I get away with just the one..they aren't cheap!

 

ya the o2s aint nuthin to sweat over. but get that new injector before you burn a hole in the top of your piston

 

Injector!!!!! I replaced the injector with a reconditioned one that I purchased on ebay for $32. I've driven her for 2 days and runnin smooth and no check engine light. Dudes-thanks for all the advice

I'm having the same issues on my 2002 Tacoma prerunner.

 

So I replaced all 4 plugs with NGK platinum plugs. Cleaned the MAF. Disconnected the battery. Problem solved. Never had plugs fail like that before. The had about 20k miles on them. Coil packs same.

Glad you got it solved. My 3.4 will misfire on occasion at startup, goes away after about 1 minute, usually happens in colder weather. Otherwise, runs like new.
I have come to the conclusion it is a balky injector as changing the plugs and sparkplug wires makes no difference...

 

I dumped a bottle of Techron and filled the tank with Chevron premium so I'll see if that helps as well. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to swap out the engine soon as I'm using a small amount of anti freeze with no leaks. I'm thinking my leaking head gasket is leading to the 3 cylinder misfire/plug fouling/ issue.

 

My truck had brand new ngk platinum g power plugs and cheapy wires on it when i got it, ran fine about 5k miles then had other issue, got that fixed and it would rev fine till about 3k rpm then go to cutting out.. it would not rev up past the 3k mark.. i was told maf etc etc.. for the heck of it i swapped to the ngk dual ground and a good ngk wire set.. fired it up and it revs wide open now, never would thought new plugs and wires would make it run like crap. but if there not the right ones guess they will! Also i gapped them to 0.44 they came out the box at 0.24.

 

Always check the gap when getting and installing new plugs. It takes 10 seconds, and can save you from a lot of headaches.

A long time ago, the Toyota parts guy assured me they were gapped properly. I asked him if he could just double check anyway. "Don't need to. They're always spot on straight from the box." he says. I checked when I got home. Yeah...they were off.

 

Yea i used to believe the "pre gapped" line too...but not all plugs are pre gapped. It took me maybe 15 min to gap them and that's both electrodes per plug.
