I'd love to see the raw numbers to verify how much/if any abnormal vibration exists.

    Measuring vibration: http://personal.cityu.edu.hk/~bsapplec/vibratio2.htm

I don't think my truck has any abnormal vibrations at all; if it does by anyone elses standards, I'd be surprised...

At least someone IS coming to see the truck. That means they have not said NO yet.

I would suggest you combining the complaint threads together (all that you find, even from different sources) and presenting them to the guy when you chat with him. But before you do, ask him if he's heard of this before and to sincerely answer you with what he thinks should be done if he were in your shoes. Then present him with the copies of the complaints and their unsuccessful resolutions and how they had to resort to finding a solution on their own.

You have a point here. A TSB would be a good (and to me, if I were going through this) satisfactory result, rather than a class action.

    $150 is a bargain!
Well yes I read the post but it offered nothing constructive. As did most his posts.
Support Toyota? You're getting ahead of yourself. Is it really that much to ask to have a new car run without issues? My truck is a month old and yes, I'm considering returning it but it's not as easy as you think.
It actually requires (oh no, not again...) litigation!
Well it's been fun and slightly informative and an epic waste of my time but somewhat entertaining. I'll send you guys the bill!
There shall be no class action Toyota. Please feel free to continue fleecing us all!

I haven't read this entire thread, nor many of the driveline vibration ones. But I am willing to guess as to source of the vibration. Since it only seems to manifest itself with more aggressive acceleration, I'll say it is axle wrap. The axle wrap then causes the pinion angle at the diff to get out the optimal range, thus causing vibrations. We know the leaves in these trucks are pretty soft to begin with.

I bet if you fix the axle wrap, your vibes will be reduced or go away.

Because it's an opportunity to learn and better yourself. I bought my truck with the express intention of voiding the warranty and doing my own mechanic work so long as I had the tools.

You don't have trouble. You have whining. Some vehicles have some driveline vibe. In fact, all vehicles have some degree of road noise, wind noise, vibration. 99 times out of 100, when someone says "horrible road noise!" or "vibration problem!" what it really means is "everyone's vehicle has this characteristic, I'm just more sensitive about it and this level is unacceptable to me personally!"

In other words - I don't believe there's anything going on with your truck that isn't going on with everyone else's. I think you're just all rabble rabble rabble about it.

I'm assuming this is limited to access and double cabs.

You see, I got this drunk Canadian (is there any other), 8 yr old I paid $20 to hold on under my frame while I drive.I gave the kid a stethescope and some Molson. We couldnt find any vibration, so I told the kid it wasnt vibrating, just wanted a 2nd opinion. The damn whelp emptied the bottle and threw it at me. So much for gratitude for an easy $20 job. not my fault he bumped his head on my tire at 60mph.....

Tarik, go drive a car. No driveline, no problems! :)

I (sorry) have to agree with most the guys in here. I find it hard to believe the is a normal driveline vibe in any of these trucks either. On top of that, if you don't know how to work on a driveline, or your truck for that matter, I don't think you should own one.... its very elementary. If no one in this forum of Tacoma enthusiasts is going to side with you, who do you think will? You have no case at this point.

Didn't you guys test drive the damn truck before buying? I am sure that you would have felt the vibes which in turn would have probably stopped you from buying the truck.
It's weird that everyone talking about the vibes have "stock/close to brand new" trucks
