i think they're trying to build for the future but i guess they could use him as a leader.

 

ol Darren Dreger was saying that the Flames are the front runner and they're just waiting to see if Regehr is going to waive his NMC to free up some cap room. Again, I do not approve of this potential transaction.

 

Smyth's want to go back to Oilers isn't new, and Kings are gonna try, but I don't see who Kings could get with him. Fact is, he's old, and has max 1-2 seasons left in him. He was a great mentor to a lot of the youngsters in the Kings, and put up decent numbers last season, but his time is near gone. Kind of sad that he wants to leave though

 

they also traded their top prospect.

who's left besides kopitar?

 

There's Brown, Doughty, Jack Johnson, Jonathan Quick, Justin Williams, Rob Scuderi, Matt Greene... I mean we still have some good/great players, a solid defense but were missing a sniper. That's why I'm not too upset with the trade. Richards may not be a 'sniper' per say, but he's an impact player, who with Kopitar can potentially make for a great combination.

Oh yeah, and Kopitar's recovery is going well

 

doughty and kopitar are the only ones worth mentioning. stoll is also good.

i think bernier will be better just give him a few years.

 

We'll have to see. Until then, Quick is still a great goaltender, with a pretty lousy team in front of him.

 

Well, for the first year yea, he will make 10mil. But the total cap hit is only 5.5 mil, which is excellent.

I just hope he comes to the Oilers. The fLames are apparently doing a push to get him too. It would be total sacrilege if 'Captain Canada' put one of those poof-da fLames jerseys on. I'm hoping that it's just a ploy to add dollars to the deal. The Oilers have bucks to spend, and we could sure use Smyth for one or two solid seasons. I think that's all he'd be needed for.

 

I hope Smyth returns to the Oilers as well
