Bulb Wattage Question!!!

So I did not pay attention to wattage and kelvin to the bulbs I just order. I order these bulbs and some revotecs that come in soon but my buddy reminded to be to not get too big of wattage because it could burn up my wiring can anyone tell me if these will be ok on the truck?

went with these cause I saw them on a tundra and it looked great

 

can anyone tell by looking at these bulbs because they both have two different watts for each

 

I would not go that high on stock wiring for the headlights, but the fog lights MIGHT handle it. I don't think I'd risk it.

If you want something that is actually bright (not just for looks), and will improve your night time vision, get the Osram 70/65w bulbs from Candlepower.com. If you're just going for looks, you can get something with probably the same color in a much lower power range--though your vision may suffer for it.

 

Dont waste your money on halogen lights. Buy HIDs
They only run at 35w but produce about 3x as much light as your stock lights. Stay in the 5 or 6k range

 

x2 but those fogs look funky. They usually list 2 wattages because one is a low beam draw, one is the high beam draw. I'm not sure why there would be 2 wattages listed for the low beam but the 55W works fine. I have 55W Nokya fogs and do not have any issues. 100W on the stock wiring is pushing it in my opinion. I believe normal is 55W low beam 65W high beam.

As far as HID's, be careful with them in stock headlight housings. They throw light much differently than a halogen bulb. You can end up blinding oncoming traffic. Some have shrouds attached to the bulb to help with the stray light issue.

 

Pugga is right--buy the Osrams instead. I tried a kit before I knew better, drove around the block and nearly got blinded by my own lights reflecting off a car's interior mirror. Keep HID for factory HID systems, or off road lights only.
