Looking for some first hand experience! OME or Bilstein?

I'm looking to give my truck a lift and right now I'm torn between the toytec ultimate lift, or the OME suspension lift that can both be found at toyteclifts.com

I plan on using it for mostly on road use, I plan on going off road a little bit on some light trails, but day to day driving is my main focus.

Another question, do you guys think I will need new UCA's to keep my steering from feeling floaty, or will it not require that?

Oh and I got 2011 Access Cab, I4, 4x4 in case you were wondering.

Opinions please! I'm hoping the OME will fit my needs so I can save about 500 bucks

I did get LR UCA's

 

I say get the OME, and spend the extra $ on Light Racing UCA's from Fat Bobs garage ($379). I feel that any lift over 2" should have aftermarked UCA's to get a correct alignment...not in the "specs" but correct.

 

I have had both 5100s and OME and i would absolutely go OME. The shocks are much thicker and beefier. I dont have the rear OME shocks just front and coils. I have 5125s in the rear. Go OME and you wont be disappointed.

 

you guys with the OME, can you adjust it? honestly I'd like to get about 1 1/2 inches in the rear, and about 2 inches up front, just a slight level lift. Is that possible?

 

This is my prediction for this thread OP .

All of the guys who have OME lifts will say " get OME "

All of the guys with the Toytec Ultimate will say " get Toytec "

All of the guys with UCA's will say " get UCA's "

All of the guys who think their alignment is " just fine " without UCA's will say " you don't need UCA's "

It's not adjustable

If you want 2" up front on an Access Cab , you probably want 884's

I got 2 1/2" on 885's with my DCLB 4x4

 

yes its very possible. OME has 884 coils which will give you 2" in the front and get a AAL for the back and u can get 1 1/2" if the front start to sag you can put a top plate spacer in the front to keep it where you want it.

 

OP has a 4cyl, should he expect to get more than 2'' out of 884?

I'm gonna order the spacers with it and tweak with and see what kind of lift I can get, honestly I'll probably end up going all the way with it, haha.

 

well yesterday I ordered the OME suspension lift from toytec, it should be here by the time I get back from vacation along with some smittybilt nerf steps

I was thinking of this same exact comparison. So it seems OME is the suspension of choice. If you don't mind my excursion, are the high-end COs (Fox, King, Icon) worlds better? As in worth the extra $700-$1000 for a smoother ride on/off road? Of course, this is objective, but I'm just wondering, can one really feel like, "Wow, I got a $1000 better ride with these (Fox,Kings,Icons) COs!!" I mean lets face it, the majority of us are not desert racers, but weekend warriors.
