You know, before I bought my truck i did loads of research on all the trucks out there. Found out their common problems and such. Then when I went to check out trucks in person I knew what to look for. It's hard to feel for someone who buys something for 30 grand without knowing what they're buying.
As for people not giving you helpful suggestions, they have. Shims to decrease pinion angle. One piece drive shafts. Here is another one. Take it to a driveline shop. Have them test drive and diagnose the problem. Have them fix it or tell you whats wrong and take that back to your dealer and demand they pay for that shop to fix it. You might also want to brace yourself for the unexpected though. The shop might tell you "its a truck, if you want a luxurious ride trade this in for a bmw"

According to my dealer and my contract if I take my TACO in 3 times for the same fix, I am authorized an exchange or opportunity to receive a new vehicle.......Check your contracts :)

I believe that he has a brand new truck without any mods as of yet. I could be wrong on the mod part.

He's obviously feels the vibrations coming from somewhere and so do the other people who have started threads on the same subject.

A lot of members here scoff at his idea of class action - and that may not be something he's able to pursue right now - but he DOES feel something is not right with the truck. And I agree that he should not have to FIX it himself or have to modify it in order for it to stop.

My truck is completely stock except for the step up bars I put on. As of now there is nothing more I'd want to do to it other than tint the windows. If it had the vibration problem, I'd expect the issue to be corrected under warranty. Wouldn't anybody?

Perhaps another dealer might see the problem or have heard of such a thing.

Regarding my specific truck, I had vibration at take off, at 22-25, and at 70-75. All from the factory, all stock. An identical truck at the dealership did the same. I was not aware of this issue until after I bought the truck. I needed a truck, I bought what I thought was the best available. Tacomas had the best reviews.
Under the recommendation of some members here, I had the leaf spring TSB done, but the 20mph vibration got worse. All other vibes persisted.
Took it to the dealer and they said it's normal.
I did some research and saw that leveling the truck might help. I installed 5100's up front. It softened the 20mph vibration but the other ones persisted.
Took it to the dealer again. Normal, they said, but shame on me for swapping out stock parts. Asked about the 15-25mph TSB and was told my truck doesn't apply.
Then I had my wheels rebalanced. Then a forth alignment since new and second since the 5100's were installed. Nothing helped.
I then replaced the stock rugged trails with BFG AT's. 20mph vibration got worse, but the take off vibe improved.
Then I read weight might help. Loaded up the bed. Problem persisted.
    Here I am.
As you can see, I have gone through considerable lengths to address the issue on my own, on my own dime, on a 1 month old truck. I don't perform the work because I know nothing about mechanics, so I pay for the work. I also don't have time, nor need to "learn about my vehicle". That's what my warranty is supposed to cover.
Not everyone has a thing for working on their cars. I wish I did have time, but I barely have time for more important things, much less my vehicle.
I'm actually moving to Canada in a week and I would have had nothing to gain from a class action. Just wanted to help you guys, and future owners from having to go through what I went through.
Clearly there's something out of the box that causes vibration, and through the ingenuity of members here, some fixes have been discovered. Still, Toyota should fix the inherent issue, rather than passing the problem off to us.

I am sorry to hear about your issue. I recently got a 2011 TRD Sport DC and can't report any vibes. I get some normal truck shakes but that is it. It sounds like you have thrown a lot of money into your truck for one month of unhappy ownership. The 5100s and BFG ATs are nice mods--why don't you just sell your truck? I am sure you will find someone who would jump at buying a month old truck with those mods already done. Becuase these trucks hold their value so well (unless people start reading this type of shit) you probably would not lose much if any money. You will never be happy with the vehicle at this point no matter what happens....

My question is as follows. If your collar is so white, why do you need a truck in the first place?

I'm shifting my view slightly. It gotta suck to have that vibe, which a reg cab seems to lack. Based on his account and no mention of lift kits(I'd still like some pics), Toyota should address this issue. Perhaps a class suit isn't the answer, but not having the vibe issue, what do I know.

What I learned from this, in the first post I got this feeling of "call out the cavalry" , I think most of us judged him as whining, were used to seeing that. The baby photos were absolutely funny. I know I tend to come out strong on some serious issues at work.... I have conviction.... but even when im right , it still calls for a better initial approach. Time will tell if I fade back to the old habit.

LEARN something from a thread? Why not! Isnt that what we came to TW for? Heck, someone started a thread on a power sliding rear window mod... looks like it'll work too.

So I wish OP best of luck, looks like a tough fight he is facing. I havent seen a truck vibrate even in the 80s from drive shafts/driveline unless it had mud stuck or worn parts. Those were 1 piece too though. Imagine, a USED forestry service 1987 dodge truck, or a 86 ford f-250, a 83 or 91 ford ranger and friends other trucks ...no vibe. Why should any new 2010 +/- pickup vibrate from the factory?

I still say take it to a driveline shop and have them check it out. This would be cheap if not free to have them test drive it and tell you if it is normal or something needs to be fixed. Until I hear it from an outside expert's mouth I refuse to believe there is anything abnormal about your truck.

WOW... Im surprised to see so many negative reactions to the guy that's trying to help us end users. Toyota doesnt care about us, they only care about us buying another toyota truck, so when only a few people are having problems, they'll write them off, and concentrate on getting new customers. I used to work FOR a dealership. I got to know plenty of Toyota Corporate people...

But for people here to clearly hate on the guy that's just trying to gain some backing on an issue with his truck, WHY would anyone beat him down like this? Has nobody been in the military? A fraternity or sorority? Had siblings? Shit, friends they would back if the friend said so? I consider TW people my friends until they show otherwise... kinda sucks to be the OP here right now. He's not being crazy, or trying to start some crap... hes trying to get something positive accomplished. Are we not glad for the leaf spring TSB? That started somewhere, whether on our side, or toyotas, it was an issue, that without effort would never have moved from "bothering just a few people." I get the floor vibration between 35-40 now, not happy with it. Gonna try to get it fixed. It's the principle sometimes, not the issue at hand. People dont get that. Theyre too busy googling pictures or whatever... lol...I dont know.

Tarik, good luck. The issue IS there, youre obviously not crazy. If I can help, I will.

well... not sure if its the same, but after my lift, i have a small vibration around 38-40 mph... REALLY noticeable when coasting down past 40 to 35, can definitely feel it. THEN yesterday, got the rear leaf TSB done, now it's a little more noticeable... pretty bummed about this... almost feels like i have really knobby tires! but I DONT.

this is different than the vibration on acceleration with a WOT (wide open throttle) which I also have...

    any updates?

    Adamo
