Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
I too hate this, I am forming a coalition to stop this over abundant soliciting. I'll print up some stuff that we can use to pickett and tell them to leave us alone and we will come to them when we want to be charitable. Who wants to join? It is a $20.00 membership fee, plus monthly dues of $5.00, and the cost of materials. If everyone would just send a check for $50.00 it will be for a good cause of putting these solicitors in place!

It doesnt suprise me one bit and Im glad it is going to a good cause. I just dont like when there is a line of people and the cashier asks do you want to dontate, I know its there job but if you put it on the pin pad I may actually do it. I like to donate quietly and anonymously.

Which is why i think it works so well. All of the money raised through our pin pads goes to give temporary shelter, food, litter, etc. to the pets displaced by all of the recent natural disasters. (or when we are lucky enough to not have the disasters, it goes to rehome pets in hoarding type situations).

This is key all of the money goes where it is supposed to go. Im not a big fan of charities that pay some ceo 6 figures and his pay check comes from donations because thats not how its supposed to work. Most of the donating I have done is for pet shelters because Im a sucker for a good cat or dog.

If you feel compelled to donate to a disease, write a check to a sick person. You show me a charity that reportedly donates more than 40% of it's income and I'll show you a group of people who need to go to prison for fraud.

I just went thru this shit Jeff. The otherday I'm at the Walmart checkout & the cashier asks if I would care to donate my change to Children's Hospital, don't get me wrong , Childrens Hospital is a great facility, top notch but I still give my donations thru the local Elk's lodge my Dad belonged to , so I say " Not today thank you." & that smartass fucking little bitch says to me , "Oh I see your going to put yourself thru college with this." Couldn't fucking believe what I was hearing , so I told her straight up that Childrens is also publicly funded & she needs to "Keep her smartass comments to herself."

By the time I got home , the more I thought about it the madder I got so a call was placed to the store manager & told him of incident & didn't appreciate being "bullied" into giving money. He was pissed, REAL pissed. I told him that she needs a good ass chewing but I didn't want her to get fired over it, but haven't seen her since last week so who knows, shoulda kept her big yap shut....

So I feel your frustration bro'....

Errmm..Calling to complain about a pushy employee and chasing someone down after a traffic incident are TOTALLY different. You made the right choice too!!
