yes, i have the same problem occasionally. it's probably happened to me 5 times total (had the truck for 2 months now). i can't seem to come up with any pattern and my dealer checked it over - nothing. there is a tsb on extended crank up to 07 - you want to search for that and have the dealer take a look (i think its just an ECU reflash). i haven't been able to determine if that same thing will work for an 08 yet

I think that they can re-flash your ECU to fix this, but I thought it was only for 2006.

How many miles on your truck?

I have been looking into this for some time. First, I think the problem lies in that the plugs are not gapped correctly from the factory. From what I have found, the plugs are gapped to narrow, resulting in an ineffiective spark. One solution is to pull the plugs and check to make sure they are gapped correctly (.040). Another solution I have been working on is when you go to turn the key to start it, hold the key about 1 to 2 seconds AFTER the truck starts to fire. the starter has a built in shut off for the starter, and it will disenguage it after the motor is running.

Could be fuel filter. I found out the hard way that there is water in gas. LOL. My older Buick was running good. Pulled into gas up and pulled out and no runnin till I changed out the filter. So.. who knows, could be your having some probs getting fuel up to pump? Fuel, air or spark..

waiting for 1-2 seconds has seemed to help but sometimes i forget. I will pull my plugs and gap check each one and adjust if necessary - good to know.

I throw heat in now once in a while. Better safe than sorry. There's a real filter in there for sure.

I have an 07 and when I first got it there were a couple of times it wouldn't start at all, wait 5 minutes and bam fire right up. I took it to the dealership and got my ecu replaced and haven't had any problems since. The guy at the dealership said it had something to do with the anti-theft device in the ecu not recognizing the key. I am not sure but I know that I did get a new ecu and it hasn't happened since. Hope you get that figured out.:D
