    Awesome concept and idea!

I don’t doubt your sail maker knows what he's doing but just FYI for you or others with similar ideas. Upholstery shops normally make car tops, boat covers and stuff like that with canvas (or vinyl) and "cotton" thread. The idea is once wet the thread swells and seals the seams. My father has been doing automotive interior for 35+ years.

I've had some sick interior in some shitty cars growing up, too bad he's too far away to hook up my truck!! :pout:

Hello everyone! Firstly I would like to apologize for dropping this thread and project for such a long time. There were circumstances beyond my control which I will not go into, but needless to say I had to put other projects and duties aside. I'm going to do my best to pick things up where I left off. I just spoke with a sail and bimini top company and they were more than interested to work with me on this idea. I've sent them some drawings so they can give me an estimate. I'm fortunate enough to have full access to a welding shop with all the essential equipment for steel and aluminum. For the time being I am in school, so juggling between all my academics and flight school... I don't have much down time. But there is enough, and believe me I am more motivated than ever to get this top done. I hope you all hang in there, and had a wonderful holiday! Things will be picking up very soon.

And again sorry for disappearing for such a long spell.

    -Cam

No worries man. Take care of your education, this stuff can wait. We all know how long some projects take. I'm just glad to hear you haven't given up.
