anyone running these tails?

^^^^^ Although not my preference for my rig, they look damn good on this truck. Diggit! Like I said, depends on motif. One thing does not fit all. Only concern there would be the reflective red part that might get negative attention from cops as was mentioned before.

1 post actually supplied one, everyone else supplied opinion on like/dislike.

Personally I like the style, just need to watch out for the legalities. As mentioned, rear reflector needs to be red (required, I think), while the stop bulb will need to also shine red. TS bulb will need to be amber or white. Backup light, don't think there are any rules on that one. If in doubt, google up your state's DOT for the lighting specs.

If you are really into the legal sh-tuff, then if the TL is not labelled with "DOT Approved" (think the term is approved anyway), then it's not legal to run. Question then is, is anyone checking that I'll care about.

 

Ended up just tinting my tails for now until I can find a set of '10 led tails. Site says to seal them even after purchase. Sounds sketchy if I have to account for the finished product of them . Thanks for the input guys.

 

I think those tail lights would look good only on a black or a white taco.

Posts have a tendency to stray from the original subject. I just think that it is just the nature of the beast. I feel that those here are a curious lot and for the most part very nice people.

so far so good on legal stuff. I read here in Oregon as long as we have a red brake light we r good to go. Blinker can be red, white, or PUKE amber in color. I put clear LED's in these that light up red when braking and are amber when turning. I had a cop follow me and a trooper follow me for 20 miles and I used brakes and blinkers the whole way and all was good. They are bright as shit! As for the OP saying they need to be sealed after buying??? Damn, I didn't see that when I bought em. I wash my truck 2 times a week and I haven't had a prob yet (knock on wood).


In this pic I had a red bulb and amber bulb in it which reflects BIGTIME off the chrome inside of the lights...when they are OFF! When on it's even crazy bright.

 

Haven't had any seal issues with tails, 3rd brake or headlights.
