Everyone does whatever they can to justify their purchase, 4x4 guys do this by saying Prerunners are incapable, Prerunner guys say that they can go wherever the 4x4 guys go. Both sides have their points. Although I absolutely agree that 4x4s can go more places than I can, I still think that Prerunners are probably some of the most capable stock 2wd trucks you can get, and sometimes deserve more credit than they are given.

I haven't seen PreRunner bashing.... I've seen some people stating their opinion, but that's about it...

It's all about having the NEED to go those places. The majority of 4x4's are the guys that have used it once in (add multiple years of ownership here). The crap you may hear is guys needing reassurance for dishin out the extra $ for 4x4 and never using it.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Come up here I'll take you a few places you can't make it in a Prerunner. You may not need 4wd in SoCal but up here your pretty limited to what you can go on trail wise in a Prerunner.

Who gives a crap what other people think???? Buy what you want and screw everyone else. I moved to NC and that is why I bought a Pre-Runner. We don't see much snow so it's not like I need to rely on 4WD to get from point A to B in the winter like I did when I was living in NY and would never have bought a 2WD truck there. My days of wheeling were almost non existent because I just work too damn much which is why I got rid of my built Rubicon. Both my truck and the wifes runner are 2WD. Hell we drove back to NY 2 years ago for Christmas in a real shitty snow storm that blasted the whole East Coast and we never had an issue but I know if it got too deep we would have been f*cked but it's all about being intelligent when choosing where to go with it and knowing the vehicles capabilities. I know I wouldn't go back to NY and try to take my PreRunner out on the beach. At least not knowing someone was there to tow me the hell out.

That being said, I would like to say that I understand that not everyone needs 4x4. Lots of people have work trucks that stay on paved roads.

    No worries.

4x4 Owners get pissed when 2x4s claim they can do what we can. Really? So I spent an extra 5 grand for nothing? Really? Really?
