hey all hows it going. im new to the site and mods so i will take any and all ideas that you want to throw at me

    09 tacoma 4.0 v6 extended cab 4wd

if i take my bolt on exhaust off and leave it off will it do any harm to my engine. sounds cool and cheaper than aftermarket exhaust.

i currently have upgraded the stero to the eclipse avn726e, added the injen powerflow cai and debadged my truck.

looking to lift 3" ,add bigger tires, add hid kit, replace headlights, and add fog lights, and add a throttle body spacer.

let me know what you think, thanks for the input

I wouldn't... Could mess with backpressure and, in most states, you're required to have a muffler.

caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
i chopped mine right before the muffler and i thought it sounded cool!

    it wont harm the engine.

it was a little slower in the 65mph area because theres less back pressure

I'd say just buy a quality muffler and dump it after the axle. Probably the cheapest route to go and it would still be legal

Just take it off and see how you like it. If you dont, then put it back on or buy a muffler. You can find mufflers for cheap.

Yeah take it off...just 2 bolts...but you will quickly relieze that it sucks! The aero turbine 2525 is a great muffler, if you dump it after the axle it will lose most of its noise

You guys need to learn a little more about engines. "Back Pressure" is a thing of the past. Any "Back pressure" is bad for an engine. Read this:

Don't be a hick leave your exhaust on, trust me when I say the people that will hear you driving around will NOT think you are cool. You don't want to put in the same category with the douche bag diesel guys with stacks coming out of the bed of their trucks.

When it comes to mods I usually say "your truck do what you want" but this is not a good idea.

If you want it to be louder buy an aftermarket muffler. Oh and skip the throttle body spacer it won't do anything.

P.S. Welcome to TW lot of great stuff here, the search feature will be your best friend.

In the stl area but I seem to be spending more and more time over in slightly southern Illinois. Our hicks replace the exhaust with 6"-8" stacks...seen em on a coupla gas powered s-10s too haha
