Was anyone in St. Augustine today? I passed a silver taco this morning with about a 3" lift (with 33's and black rims I think), front plate bumper, rear steel bumper with tire carrier gate, and looked like a bunch of other mods. Maybe Jason? I was on my way to get my windows tinted :D

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure if he had just gotten one or something. Whoever it was, it was a damn good looking truck.

No not really, it was some kind of plate bumper but I couldn't tell which one. He was three lanes and a median away and we were both moving so I just got a glance. Looked like he had sliders too though. Just figured it might be somebody on here, as much as he had done to his truck.

All the beaches I've been to near me, you just park and walk 10' to the shore. You can't drive on the beach itself.

i have the tools and ability to make it work, and i know that if i get 33s, knowing i could have gotten 35s, i probaby won't be completely satisfied until i get 35s.

I would just get the 33's, you're only going to gain an inch of ground clearance and lose some capability.

yes to gears, i'll try the treadwrites unless i find something good on herre or CL beforehand.

    why a loss of capability?

    just thinking out loud:
ill still get full articulation. probably get all pro front glass, which will allow me to not rub in the front with only cutting and gussetting the body mount. as for the rear, i wouldn't mind losing the fender flares or even cutting the bedsides to fit properly.

as for braking, my brakes are almost in need of replacing (pads and rotors). and i was planning on getting a nice set of slotted and dimpled (not drilled) rotors, and an agressive pad, so braking should only change a little, if any.

for steering, i haven't heard of any tacomas on here haveing steering issues with 35s, other than a little more effort to turn the wheel. if i blow through tierods, i wouldn't mind upgrading to the heim steering with cromolly rods kit

i'd say there's a 50/50 chance between 33s and 35 at this point. i have a little time to think it over.

Quick question about brakes colin since you mentioned them. I heard plane rotars are the best cause they have more surface area that the drilled/slotted/dimpled yada yada. Also heard the slots and drilled surface eat pads faster. But idk just throwing it out there something to think about.

I want to get some ebc yellow stuff pads when I do my lift here soon. I just dont know what to do about the rear seeing as its drums and I have never done drums before.

And also colin.... you wont run 35"s :p I think you scared. (Little motivation)
