I purchased some 3000K h10 bulbs from DDM. I had a ballast from my old car that I took it out before I sold it. I decided to use this to run the fog lights. The bulbs I had were the wrong size for the fogs so I ordered them from DDM.

When I start up It has a very very green tint. After warm up it is closer to yellow but still has a green hue to it.

Are these bulbs bad? Is this just what you get with the DDM kit? I'm going to give it some time and see if they "burn in"

    Here are some pictures:

Do you have laminx yellow covers on your fogs? I though someone said a while back that the laminx and 3k fogs = green light. Or any kind of yellow tint or stain? Idk I am interested in the solution.

I don't have anything on the bulbs. They are fresh fogs(truck is 2011). One member here mentioned that he though the green was from touching the bulb. I know that is not my case b/c i put a fresh pair of blue nitrate gloves before handling the bulbs. Even with that I made sure not to touch the bulbs.

I think i will end up going with 4500K bulbs and use yellow lamin-x tint.

Does any one have any experience with any other brand? Are all 3000K bulbs this green?

Put the laminx yellow covers on for a true yellow look. I don't think ONLY fogs would do it.

No matter what I do, I'll give it a month for the color to shift. This is just a lot more green than I expected.

i'll keep taking pictures of the lights on my garage door so others can see the progression of the "color shift"

I'm not from Madison. I moved here for work. I grew up in Pensacola, Fl. The wife is from N.O. but raised in Mandeville , LA.

HIDs take around 5-10 seconds to get their true colors. Ive seen some 3k HID kits that start out purple then turn yellow. It's just how HIDs are

That is why I have the start up color(green) and then another shot ~1 min after start up. I still think the "warmed up" shot still looks to green. I'll take another shot tonight and post it.

i'm using the lamin-x film with 5000k hids. it's a perfect yellow. i'll post up a picture when i have a chance. i think 4500k will still yeild a slightly green tint when paired with the lamin-x. (this is a ddm kit in the stock fog housing by the way, so should be what you're looking for)

Slimcubbys HId's are spot on with the color. I have a set of 6000K and 4300K. Don't take but a few seconds to get to full color.

Hopefully the RTC 75watt that Im looking into will do the same!
