Well, shit, here ya go....recent access cab transplant. Got the bug in some reg cab threads and especially when I found this online at a dealership. '08 SR5 with buckets/console (last yr they came this way IIRC) with 51k on it...traded the '05 91k access cab in the next day. Started out like this..........


I got a day to strip WTs, WOs, bed mat, spare tire lock, tailgate lock, vent shades, GROM audio usb/mp3/ipod adapter, TRD skid, TRD tow hook, Smittybuilt light bar, Hella 500ffs, 2 oem fog switches, oem fogs/harness, oem cruise, OBX pedal covers, aFe dry flow drop-in off the access cab & already had full set of TRD bilsteins, URD ss kit, black oem headlights to go on it too. Got TRD low mileage shocks installed with Toytec taco lean spacers on both sides so front is lifted 1/2 inch, got new reg cab in channel vent guards, tinted the top of windshield and back window. All that is left to do is the URD ss and wire up the fogs/500ff's.....for the time being. Gonna need a 2011 chrome grill to put my horns on at some point tho, left the black 2011 grill on the 05 but kept the horns.

Now it looks kinda like this except I have vent guards and 1/2" lift with TRD bilsteins up front and all mud flaps removed.............


3 model yrs newer, half the mileage on it, 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty, no 1200.00 18" tires to replace like on the access cab and mpg has gone from 17-18 to 22-23. I can now drive against wind or uphill without downshifting too. Lovin it. Diggin on all the other ones in here.............

what are the 3 switches on the left?

 

I'll play. Picked it up last night.

 

On mine those are the "RSCA off", clutch start override, and traction control off buttons, plus a blank cutout which I assume would be for fog lights if the truck had them.

 

they should have never stopped making this configuration.
best one imo

it's sad that 65% of Tacoma sales are doublecabs nowadays, those things are hideous in comparison with reg cab, access cabs.

New member here. 05 SR5 61k miles. This was the thread that inspired me to purchase a Prerunner SR5 instead of the base 5 lugger! It feels good to be able to post on here as I'm really enjoying my truck even though it's only been 5 days with it!





















BTW anyone know this hitch? Does not look like it's OEM to me. Did Reg cab Prerunner SR5's come with this hitch factory? I checked under the truck and there is not harness to be found.

 

I'm gonna wash the thing and do a foto shoot since I have completed most of my mods and haven't got pics with vent guards, front "lift" & couple of others. Also have taken none of the interior so I'll be sure to get some to pimp out the WTs, WOs, black instead of silver cup holders, mixed matched silver face with black buttons oem stereo with usb connection, OBX pedals, 2 oem fog switches for my lights and a poser rear diff lock sw I scored when getting the 2nd oem fog switch to run the 500ff's.

My '08 SR5 did not come with an OEM hitch...DrawTite is aftermarket AFAIK.

 

Yep, same one that was on the 05 ac prerunner. Aftermarket but doesn't really matter. Works. Mine did have a harness but wasn't too impressed with the wiring job. Never used the harness tho.

 

Nice to know. Not that I'm going to tow anything any time soon. The sticker to the left of ORW states that it has a towing capacity of 5500 lbs but after reading around it seem like the max for the 4 bangers is around 3500?

 

my first reg cab its a 04 base model auto i have had 4dr and acc cabs and a 4dr tundra but i like this one the best now
