Just completed the import process, butt easy actually and TW was a great help. All in all including travel to pick it up and documentation process, I'd say it was a 10 hour job.

www.riv.ca is a HUGE help and everyone on both sides of the border were super. Toyota themselves provided a letter within an hour or my request by fax and truck has been great.

Only little surprise was from the licensing office in Ontario, where they made me get an 'Empty Weight Certificate' for some stunned reason, so i just had to go to a local truck scale, pay $12 and get the truck officially weighed

Not a big deal to be sure, just a bit of a pain. Toyota's are apparently one of the easiest vehicles to import

Now you just need to scan the wreckers for a km/hr dominant speedo. It's a simple plug and play.

The km numbers are already there - they're just too small!

hmmm, hadn't thought of the speedo Idea, thanks, although really it's not that big a deal, but still will keep an eye out thanks for that one.

Found the truck in MA, on autotrader.com, got them to take a few more pics of it up on the hoist, it is a 2011 with 6,000 miles, full warranty and has Toyota's used vehicle certification so those were comfort things as I was buying it unseen.

Shipped it with a car carrier for $500 to Niagara Falls NY, he met me in the parking lot of the DMV there, I got a NY State Trip permit, drove to the US border where I had faxed the bill of sale, title docs etc a few days before as required, guy there checked the serial number and sent me on my way to the Canadian border. Met with them, they didn't even look at the vehicle (damn, should have bought those TRD rims after all!) paid the HST (grrrr) and drove home. got a safety and empty weight certificate and got it licensed in my name after paying the GST (grrrr 2)

Brand new here the truck I wanted was $39,750 plus tax (WT.....???)

This one cost me $28,500 incl transport and my time. While I'm not terrific at math, I do know that it is very GOOD on the 'good - bad' scale of things :)

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Should have put that supercharger thingy on it, too.

Now I want to see you get that truck back into the states. It seems like every time I come back into the U.S. it's oral cavity search time. Maybe it's because I'm so sexy.

awesome!...I wanted to do this as well...but the savings are only significant like that on newer vehicles...and I only had around 20k to spend at the time...I figured I could ve saved 2k ish....but next time I'm doing it!
I can't believe they made you get it weighed! ...how lame is that!
    could have googled it!:D
enjoy your truck!...lots of $ left for mods now...:worthless:
