I don't know what it is about Discount Tire where they always seem to never get things right the first time. I swear every time I use them it becomes a two trip ordeal. Last week I ordered a set of XD Monsters for my truck. I went in today to have them installed and during the install I decided to peak out into the shop and low and behold they were installing Rockstars! WTF! Apparently someone with a Silverado ordered those and he came in this morning and they apparently put those on his truck so they were no longer there for my truck. I'm guessing that guy was psyched to see he didn't have belly buttons on his truck and decided to keep the Monsters rather than throw out the red flag like I did. They tried getting me to keep them by offering a discount but they weren't even the right specs. Out of curiousity I had them drop the truck and with the 0 offset they would have rubbed in either direction pretty bad. Needless to say I have to go back next week when they come in and I made sure they re-ordered the wheels in front of me to make sure they ordered the proper offset and backspacing so they didn't f*ck up again. I swear after this purchase I am done with them as this is the third purchase in a row where I had to go back because they f*cked something up.. If it weren't for the fact that I got to take advantage of the tax free weekend last week I would have told them they can keep the wheels and tires and took my business elsewhere.

Sounds to me it was shame on you for going back the last two times.
When a business messes up something as obvious as this I don't go back.
    Just my .02
    Best of luck.

Maybe its just your local one? I have done business with them multiple times and had nothing but good service. Good luck getting it fixed though.

This is very true. Still trying to find another local shop that offers good service with a fair price but have yet to find one. I have tried two Discount Tires and have had similar issues. The two I have been in just seem to be younger guys in the shop and I think a lot of times at that age they just don't give a shit and are doing the bare minimum to get by until it's time to punch out and go home. Don't want to lump all the stores and employees together but the two stores I have dealt with have yet to impress me and this has always seemed to be the case. Hell it was just a month ago I brought the wifes 4Runner in for tires. Three of the Four tires were balanced using stick on weights the the fourth was done using the traditional lip weights. Not a big deal but still an oversight and unfortunately I didn't notice until the day after when I was washing the truck. The time before that I got tires put on another vehicle I specifically instructed them to mount the tires white letters in. Sure enough when I came to pick it up they had mounted them white letters out. Receipt even had the instructions on it. Again nothing major but still annoying and a mistake from lack of paying attention which resulted in me having to leave the vehicle with them and come back later.

I guess i consider myself pretty fortunate. My grandpa, dad, and older brother are all in the business and they know their stuff. I order the wheels and tires to my house and i get them mounted and balanced for 50 bucks! you don't have any buddies in the business?

All that family in the biz and you still get charged at all? A good deal is always relative (pun intended).

Just wanted to chime in that I've used Discount Tire Direct a ton of times and they always offer great deals, good service and free shipping on tires! We don't have their shops around here, so they may very well suck. I usually use the dealer for installs, and last time it was only $80 for all four tires mounted and balanced. Still came out way ahead over buying from any local shop, none of which had the Dynapros I wanted.

Back in NY I did and it was awesome as I would tell him what I was looking for and he would let me know whether or not it was an option and if not would give me a couple alternatives and I always got awesome pricing., but since moving to NC I have yet to make a wheel/tire connection.
