Pros and Cons to Synthetic Oil?

Im curious about the pros and cons to Synthetic oils. Lots of info would help alot.

 

pros....better lubrication, better cold starts, longer change intervals.....cons=none! cant go wrong with synthetic...............unless you have really high miles(like over 110k or so) then synthetic can possibly clean the seals too good and cause leaks.

 

I heard if you go Synthetic that you cant go back to the regular oil.

 

thats a myth.............you can always go back if you wanted to................but with how good synthetic is...i doubt you'd wanna go back.

synthetic blends are ok....but im all about full synthetic!

im up around 20 or so on my 04 v6.

 

really. i installed the deck plate and i have a flowmaster and i get about 18.

 

i have the deckplate mod and a dynomax muffler.......they have helped pretty decently! air pressure adjustment will help with mpg's too.

 

tire pressure?

 

yeah.....adjust the air in your tires up above recommended pressure, and you'll see a little improvement!

 

ill go check them out... and ill look into going Synthetic.

 

How about synthetic air....will that work?

 

it'll work as well as synthetic blinker fluid, and composite muffler bearings!

 

I will apologize for the sarcastic "synthetic air" remark. It's just that this topic has been beaten to death and there are HOURS of reading by using the "SEARCH" function. There is enough insight, debate and opinion to where another synthetic vs. whatever thread should never have to be started.

Just my thoughts.....Ok, back in my cave. (I'd relax on my couch but it's taken up....Couch Hog!)

 

How many of you guys put your tire pressure at or around what the tire say's?

 

i never go that high. i usually run around 34 front and 32 rear...most of the time anyway.
