putting a sub in an access cab

where should i put a sub in my access cab? it seems theres no place to put one. any ideas?

 

what are you going to be using? i've had 3 10's, 2 12's and a 15" in mine consecutively, i have it all figured out lol

 

probobly 2 10's..where did you fit them?

 

i had a box with 3 10's, had a custom box made by my buddy for $100 that sat on the drivers side rear bench, went about halfway across but it also went over the seat and sat on the floor too, have the same thing for my single 15". if you're looking to just make it sound better, do 10's but if you really want some easy, cheap power then do a single 15" with a decent amp and you'll be set

 

it depends alot on the subs too.

1 JL 10W6V2 will sound better than a pair of a lesser subs. It may not be as "loud" but the SQL will be much better and it will pound plenty for an access cab.

you can always do the Xtreme Kreations door panels in the rear doors for 2 10s

2 memphis 12s with 1000watts wasnt enough for my accesscab, one 15" memphis w/ 800 watts keeps me satisfied

I recommend the underseat Focal BUS 20 8" powered subwoofer. I have one and its awesome. The enclosure is cast alluminum.

 

I put it right behind the driver seat facing me like this. The bass sounds the best and I now have a seat massager

Thats where mine is at also.

I have the it facing upwards now though, seems to sound better that way.

 

Probably psychosomatic, bass frequencies are omni-directional, the wavelength is too long for the inside of a vehicle.

I didn't see your year listed above, but they make one for the old-style rear seats, as well as the (from what I understand) '09 and up, but listed as '10 and up rear seats.

I picked one up with square hole to throw a 10" L7 into. Pretty much hits like a couple of 10's if paired up with the right amp. Still haven't gotten around to getting it in, though. Very solid box and quite unobtrusive upon test fitting it into my truck. My CB is mounted to the back of my console, so I gotta relocate it. Bummer.

 

Here's what I did with mine. I saw a design for a box I liked so I built it. I did a full on serious upgrade of everything and added some rear rear components in the rear panels. The only good place for a box is right in the center, or you could get really fancy and fiberglass some boxes into the rear panels.
