    Extended lunch;)

Synthetic has better cleaning/detergency characteristics. Old car seals shrink and degrade. The sludge helps block these leaks. Synthetic will make quick work of those blockages.
Engineers have fixed the problems of seal expansion differential between conventional and synthetic. You can swap/top off as needed without problems. A good seal will work with either oil. A marginal seal will only work with conventional. The molecule size is only part of the picture.
All of this info is available on Amsoil's website...

I am up for workin' 'round the afternoon. I don't think an oil change is the solution. A drain will show metal shavings if there is a problem. We'll need a clear container to drain into to see them, or a fine sieve.

    You have air, Burg?

It might be worth a try, if it's oil related. I never put much faith in aftermarket additives. Some do work, but it's a select few. It'd only be a band-aid if it does anything. If there's shavings in the drain, it won't buy much time.

Hold off on the synthetic till you find the cause. Conventional GL-4 or 5 will do for now.

If I am shooting someone at 100 yds...I am going to jail. This is mainly for CQM. I still plan on saving up for an ACOG. I could also just get the 3x magnifier...
