Thanks, I had to order it from california and have it shipped to nd, then went over the border and picked it up. They wouldnt ship it to canada due to warranty issues or something because they are german bike manufacturer. Not exactly sure the reasoning.

as far as assisting people on the trails...always..kid to adult, male or female, i always ask if they're ok and if they have a flat i ask if they have everything...only once someone has asked for help, but they needed compressed air to pop a bead back on and all i had was a hand pump which we tried, but did not do the job

Another pitch rider. Im slightly jealous of the pike front end. That the u-turn? 2011 switched to air. Rode it twice and had to send the fork away for warranty. Just a bad part from factory. New fork on and its all gravy. Great bike, especially for the price.

Man there are some really pretty bikes on here, pretty CLEAN! Not this little trek, she ain't much to look at I do twenty to thirty miles every time I ride. New crank, front dr, fresh chain, new cassette, fresh fr sprockets, new grips. When I have the time I'll do 100 miles in a week, my friggin legs are buff as hell.

So I received my Rocky Mounts Clutch bike rack for the bed. When I recieved it, Alfred E. Bike didn't send me the mounting hardware. I called Rocky Mounts, they sent me the mounting hardware. Then I went to mount the bike and the thread on the pin was stripped. I called Rocky Mount and finally received my new setup for free...

BTW, mine barely fits, and that is only if slightly diagonal. Mine is a large Giant Trance X4, with the mount flush against the front track. Hope this helps anyone who might be mounting theirs.

My bike does not fit in the bed. It is a large Gary Fisher 29er. I solved the problem by laying a 2x6 across the bed for the rear tire to sit on. The seat is up in the air, but I can haul 3 bikes using this technique and the rocky mounts.

bone stock, will pick up a Fox 36 float after the summer. I also have a set of spare wheels with a King rear/generic 20mm front on Mavic 819 rims sitting around, but kind of dig the green nipples on the stock wheels...

Oh, and this was after I got it home. No reflectors now, of course...

And with both bikes using 20mm forks, I dont use any of the QR fork mounts. I have made a PVC bike rack for the tuck, similar to the Utah Mountain Bike plan. I have the top rail sitting against the rail in the truck, and use 2 bolts/washers/wing nuts to secure the rack to the truck bed. it will sway some, but I usually tie it down anyways.

Here's my 13 year old bike. Just put clipless pedals on yesterday. Never had them before so I'm a little nervous. I seem to get in and out easily enough. Also got a new rear tire too. Earlier this year I got a new seat finally and wireless speedo. Last year I got the new front fork- not really liking it all that much. Seems way too soft. I even purchased a stiffer spring for it. Oh well, live and learn. I would love a new bike, but I don't have the coin :(. I think I lose a lot of energy on the rear shock and I probably don't really need it for the riding I do.
