Got my truck lifted finally. Truck rides great but still have some minor trimming to do. I have a question- I got an alignment and it rides fine but on one side (driver) the tire rubs the wheel well more than the passenger side. Could this be caused by an improper alignment? Thanks
Lift specs: 5100s set at 2.5, spidertrax wheel spacers and 285 definity Dakota m/t

I dont know exactly, but I remember my lifted runner had the same thing, and I thought it could be from more weight on the left side possibly... Just have a feeling it isn't the alignment but don't know what it could be.

Doubt seriously if it's alignment related. Just gonna have to do some trimming especially with only 2.5" of lift.

Yea stock uca, they said they got it to spec but wouldn't print out an alignment sheet for me. I am going to a different shop tomorrow. I am wondering if the alignment was off would that be the reason one side rubs worse than other side. The rubbing is on the front plastic tip of the fender, but only on one side

If your caster adjustment is maxed out , which it probably is , that may be part of your issue .

Bay city got mine aligned properly with stock uca's and three+ inches of lift. Goes straight as a string but still had to trim.

Thanks oz i think that could be one of the reasons why only one side does it. Damn pep boys hopefully I will get it done right at another shop. I have already hacked off some of the plastic

I don't think the OP is disputing that he has to trim , he's wondering why it is rubbing one side and not the other the way it is now

Similar thing happened to me. First shop said I got 3* of caster with 2.5" lift and stock UCAs. I got it checked by another shop and barely had 1*.

The side that isn't rubbing could be set up with less caster (which moves the wheel back in the fender). Probably still need to trim with those 286s though.

Yes I have already trimmed alot I am just wondering why one side rubs more than the other. I would think if it was aligned properly it should rub on both sides the same, am I correct?

I'm running stock UCA's and no issues here.. I get some wandering on the High way but it's controllable because i stay at 65 or 70 to reduce killing my MPGs.

To account for road crown, some shops will set up the alignment with cross camber or cross caster. This might account for the difference. Don't know for sure, just thinking out loud.

Does anyone have any pics of what you had to trim and how to make it look as clean as possible

Refusing to print you out an alignment sheet seems a bit strange
