e bay. I was trying to get one from the old 4runners, but they are like 200... this thing was 40 and looks to be pretty good quality.

Nice, dude. Did the install give you any problems other than the standard "bolt hits the sheet metal" stuff?

Too much grease will blow out the bushings. Im asumeing your talking about the UCA's? The squeaking may be coming from the uniball. Camburgs are known for their uniball squeak.

x2... if you see bulging of the bushing, then there's too much grease in there... (I know from experience...)

Here's a pic of too much grease and what happens to the bushings. You can see the inner bushing on the right looks like it's going to explode or something...

I have done the same thing. When greaseing the bushings. I put a film of grease on them, then after they are mounted, I grease them until I hear the "pops", then I stop. I will re grease after 2000 miles, but just a few pumps apiece.

Ya, I've regreased once so far -- and I'm a bit paranoid to do it... don't want to overfill them again...

I do have a great procedure for getting the excess grease out that doesn't require removal of the UCA......

    1. Take wheel off
    2. Disconnect Uniball
    3. remove grease zerks
    4. Loosen UCA bolt / nut but don't remove
    5. Move UCA up and down (rock it) lol
    6. The excess grease should stream out of the zerks.
    7. Reassemble...

Well this worked for me at least...

    Thanks man

And about the grease. I will watch out for that bulge, thanks for the heads up. The camburgs didnt come wth grease fittings, just holes in either side that I guess you are supposed to fil through. Well the mechanic helping me used almost 2 of those tube things of grease that come with the UCAs on the passenger side (no squeak at all) and I used barely 1 tube on the driverside (very very squeaky).

Doesnt really bother me as long as it is not hurting anything.

How often should you grease the UCAs? I think I just smeared some grease on the red bushings when I installed them back in October (about 4K miles ago) and haven't done anything since...

Well, If it turns out the Uniballs are squeaking, use some Tri-flow, or some other dry teflon lube. It should quiet things down fo ya.

I greased mine right after install:
Rubbed a film of grease on the metal sleave, bushings inner and outer, then after install, I greased them until I heard them "pop". Then I greased them agian at 2000 miles. Just a couple of pumps. Then, just grease them every 6 months or so depending on use.
