I'm sorry if I missed this somewhere, but where exactly do you have to go to get a pass to drive out there? And how much is it?

    Sounds good to me!

My goal is to be at the sticker store by 8ish.

If anyone wants to meet at the Bucee's in Wharton say at 7, I'm down for that. Otherwise, I'll just head to the Citigo/sticker store.

I MIGHT be interested in the recovery hitch/shackle/locking hitch pin also.

I may head down there this weekend to check things out. Anyone else interested?

Well, my buddy with the Jeep can't bring the Jeep. He and his wife just switched over to Progressive insurance and they hooked up data readers to his jeep and wifes Tahoe to record their driving habits. Crazy

Got quiet in here. So I will meet you guys at Bucee's in Wharton at 0700. At least that is what I will shoot for anyway, unless we are going to meet up earlier or later. I am going to bring my cooler to put some drinks in also.

You were correct.... :pout: ....3/4 inch shackle wont fit. I can leave it like that or flip it over for a hook, but I think I am going to leave it and just run the recovery strap through it if I ever need it........

I will shoot for Bucee's at 0700. I'm bringing parts to sell, easy-up for shade, grill to cook, surfboard or kayak (whichever is best for the conditions that day), cooler, chair & whatever else might be of use. I have been there many times so I may end up hanging out close to where we get on the beach and form a base place of sorts and just chill there while everyone goes down the beach and back. Maybe surf a bit and shoot some gopro vids of it. Haven't tried it out on the surfboard yet. The trail behind the dunes might be dry enough for a prerunner tho with the drought and all, hmmmm, we'll see what develops.

Bucee's @ 7AM sounds like a winner. I'll be there from 6:50 until 7:10 if anyone else wants to meet there and caravan down Hwy 60 thru Bay City.

Made the trip down there this past Saturday to check things out.

A Beach Access Sticker will run you $10 ($50-$500 fine without it) and it's good for the rest of 2011.

Seen lots of Bubba Neck Trucks with huge OR tires, throaty V8's and tow staps at the ready.

Don't want to scare any PreRunners off, but the sand is pretty soft even on the main drag. I doubt I'll be venturing off in the dunes myself, but I hope some of you are crazy enought to try it.

I've got a recovery strap just in case.

T@coP3, I like the idea of a base camp near the beach entrance. I'll bring my gear also.

    here's a few photo's from Saturday...
