My 2006 Pre-Runner (used) has an aluminum plate mounted under the front bumper that curves upward with the contour of the bumper. What is it for? If it is a skid plate it doesn't look like it would stand up to very much. I have seen similar ones that are actually attatched to a Bull Bar like this http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/westin_bullbar-lightbar.html but mine is only the plate without the tubing. I haven't seen one on any other tacomas locally.

Is it like 2 feet wide and 6 inches wide? If so yeah it's a crappy little skid plate. I see them mostly on 1st gen tundras around here but I've seen them on a couple of tacomas too.

looking at the picture of your truck, it comes up in front of the part of your bumper that is black.

I know...I'm working on the pictures. I already have them on the camera, but my daughter borrowed my card reader and hasn't brought it back yet so I can't load them to the computer.:(
