Im still running the BFG A/T 265-70r16 with a little over 20k miles on them. Ill see if they really are that bad on the roads down here in Cortland county and if I have to replace them ill probably get the Grabber AT2.

Hopefully the extra weight from my leer cap and 4wd will keep me out of any trouble.

I have a friend that put general grabbers on his ford. Decent tire except for the fact they always picked up gravel and sprayed it over the truck.

And where abouts in Cortland county? I'm next door in Tioga.

Hannibal here. But no one really knows where that is, so I say Oswego or even Syracuse. I know it isn't that close but I do work in East Syracuse.

I do drive thru North Rose sometimes on my way to Waterloo.

Actually living in Cortland. Your not too far south and Brian isnt to far north.

After my lease is up next year I might look into moving down towards Ithaca but not in it. Im waiting to see how well NY takes care of the smaller roads around central ny before moving anywhere.

If the grabbers are a bit much I might go with a more conservative tire since the truck is mostly on the pavement with the hours im working.

Cool! I lived in Cortland about 5 years ago before buying our house. Ithaca is nice in the outskirts. Lots of houses for sale on 79, and that's a snow route so they keep it open. They have too though as it's a very steep hill going down into town. Lots of traffic though, which could be why people are moving. Smaller roads around here get plowed last. Even some of the side streets in Cortland seem to get plowed by traffic only. You'll want an aggressive tire for the snow, but I wanted to warn you about the grabbers throwing rocks.

    Lots.
My Revo 2 were great upstate this winter. They are way quieter than the grabbers or BFG A/Ts (basically the same tire) and perform better in every category in my opinion.

Maybe we can actually get an Upstate meet going this fall.

I would have to argue that. I had the BFG's before the grabbers and I loved the BFG's. Money was tight and i could not justify 200 a pop for the BFG's, so i got a cheaper tire. In come the Grabbers. I paid 150 a pop for them, and as far as I can tell, the Grabbers are far superior to the TA KO.

A good number of the Grabbers are snow rated. I do not think any of the BFG's are. They do look the same, but I do not think they are close. Snow and ice traction is great. They do throw rocks, not too bad, but it happens. Especially when new. Great tire for the price.
