5100 length vs stock Bilsteins

Anyone know how much longer the front 5100's are than the stock billies that come with the 2010 DC TRD SB Sport? Thanks in advance....

The Toytec guys are telling me the 5100's are longer, but can't tell me how much. Thought someone might have measurements.

 

OK, so we have the same wheel drop constraint after a 2" front lift whether we use the 5100's or leave the stock billie's on?

 

Christian is right, the fronts are the same. Theres a side by side pic floating around here somewhere.

 

I am not sure, but the front should be the same, were you get the lift is in the compressed spring and seat position. The rears they state will be able to fit a stock to a 2" lift in the rear suspension, which suggests to me the rears may be longer. The stock Bilstein shocks are nice for an OEM factory option, but the 5100's are a completely different animal, and a much better shock. For a leveling option and or a upgrade to the factory shocks, this is the best bang for the buck IMO...

 

i have seen the picture before... i think chris 4x4 posted it. but i thought they were like a inch or so different. unless im thinking of a different picture

 

Thanks everyone....I appreciate the input. I'm mostly concerned with the reduction in downward wheel travel when lifting with 5100's and how often the shocks would hit the limit of travel. From what I've read on this site, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem except in fairly aggressive offroad conditions, which I don't do.

 

How many times have you bottomed out recently? If your answer is never, then you will find these shocks will be a great upgrade to the stock shocks, TRD or not. If your bottoming out and getting air, time to upgrade beyond the 5100's.
