I think they are just trying to get the word out to show the team and the fans they are still not happy until they win a cup. Might work, but now that the word is out I imagine more people will step offers up and maybe there will be smoke. Still have insane depth at center with Pavelski, Marleau sometimes, and Couture. A futures package might be the best thing for them to do.

While obviously I would have preffered that we won the final round , I am still happy that we were able to advance to the final , it shows that our line up is in good shape to make another good run at the cup this year .

The Kings will scrape into 8th again in the West and go out in 5 games in the opening round .

It's one thing to get out in 5 games with integrity, and it's another to make it to the finals (by acting) and being sore about losing. You had your home ice advantage all throughout the playoffs for playing in an easy division and racking up points. The pacific division is the most difficult and competitive division in the NHL. Canucks wouldn't have been Presidents Trophy winners had they been in the Pacific Division. Congrats on making it to the finals, honestly, but that doesn't mean anything. Kings made it to the finals in 93, no one cares. There are two categories every season. The team that wins, and the 29 that lost. Doesn't matter where you are in that group of 29.

Quite simple actually. They gained over 7 million in cap space (would be comparable to 11.1 mil now with todays cap hit), and signed Chara that summer, and that was the start to the near perfect rebuild which led to a Stanley Cup. They win the trade
