I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this option?
Which package does it come with?
I know that it comes on the fully loaded models, but can you order it as a seperate option? Is it on the deluxe stereo package, or on the JBL package only?
    Any input would be appreciated!

i think its only on the jbl equipped models and i had trouble finding a truck with it. ended up getting an 08 anyway so didn't really matter. i did test drive a truck overnight with the bluetooth and it was pretty cool. i'm investigating adding it to my 08 using the stock controls

Thats a shame, didnt really want to stump up for the JBL system, as it seems a bit steep for what you get.
If you figure it out, you should defenitely do a writeup for the mod.
Its a shame Toyota doesnt offer this as a seperate option, as i reckon it would sell itself!

Instead of paying toyota for the extra package, just buy yourself a nice double-din touch screen stereo w/ bluetooth :D

i have the built in bluetooth on my 09 trd sport. i think you can only get it with jbl. it does work fine, but you can get better 3rd party stuff. the menu's are pretty straight forward, and only a couple of times it didn't read my numbers when i "dial by number".

It only comes with the "PQ" package trucks. Ask your dealer to search for trucks with the PQ code, that includes bluetooth, and JBL audio / Sub, ect..

That does sound like the better alternative.
Hmmm, now Pioneer or Kenwood.... :D

I got a pioneer and I like it...others have installed the Kenwood and they like it. I think its a matter of looking at all the functions & seeing what fits you best..?

i just want the factory buttons on the wheel - not necessarily the whole factory bluetooth system...

Definitely agree. Pioneer has the better sound, but Kenwoods tend to have the better Garmin SatNav. I am a Pioneer nut though!

That was my thought too. Though I think a touch screen head unit would do the trick, and you can also get the adaptor harness to make your steering controls work on aftermarket units.

Thanks guys, I prefer OEM stuff of this nature, but it definitely makes sense to spend the extra grand the JBL package costs on aftermarket equipment.
Though if anyone does try to retro fit the OEM system, let us know how it works out!

I was looking for bluetooth also and my truck didn't come with it. I asked the dealer about it and he said they could add it on but it cost around $500. I figured I would go aftermarket at that price.

I'm actually at the dealership on one of their computers typing this...
Anywho, I've elected to have the dealership install their version of the factory bluetooth drop in. All in all it's costing me around $400 bucks. I have an 09 Access Cab. Too bad it or any other AC models didn't come with bluetooth, let alone a way to mount the cool bt buttons on the steering wheel (short of buying a new wheel). So, in an hour we'll see how it turns out and I'll let you all know just how well it works.
Oh by the way this bt addition places a bluetooth button in an empty shell spot where your other options would be on the left hand side of the steering wheel. I actually have all the options and no space, so I'm having them mount it underneath the center console between the A-Trac and the AUX port buttons. This row of buttons is about a 1/4" shorter, so the mechanics doing a little trim job to fit in the larger button. Hopefully it will look neat and professional.

    Results and pics to come...

    That's blulogic right?

I've seen the smaller switches in camry's or corolla's that might be a direct fit into the 09 under dash spots. Maybe you could take a look while you're there. That way we could order a smaller switch Blulogic system.

We're gunna need pics of coarse.

I had dealership install bluelogic and my talk button is on the left side below the fog light switch but I should have waited as I hate the factory radio so now I am going with the Pioneer AVIC 7010 BT. So basically I blew 400 dollars:frusty:

My wife and I had the Bluelogic option installed on our RAV 4 and Tacoma at the same time...wish I would have known how much they sucked before we got them. Everyone we talk to complains of how awful the reception is. If I had to do it over again I would have purchased a new HU.

I have the Blulogic bluetooth in my truck that replaces the sunglass holder and love it. Reception is great and buttons are very accessible. I'm not a fan of the steering wheels controls anyway.....heck I seldom use the steering wheels controls for the stereo!!!!

i just bought an 09 DC that came with that installed. I dont need a bluetooth and rather have my sunglass holder back so i might be selling it soon. This thing works amazing for someone who would need the BT. Not for me.

GROM Audio makes a sweet package. Plugs right into the back of your head unit. The wheel controls still function as well
