Patch cables for analog signals are the only place you are ever going to notice a difference. Speaker wire (how Monster got started, and their supposed claim to fame), if its the same gauge it will sound the same. Oscilloscopes have proven time and time again that a lamp cord will sound just as good as $1000 speaker wire of the same gauge. If its a digital audio/video cable, there is no such thing as slight picture/sound degradation. Each packet of data is sent with parity data so that it can be reconstructed in the event of partial data corruption. By the time that doesn't work, you have lost whole packets of data, and the result is skips in sound/video (like when the satellite tv loses signal, or a cd player skips). If a $5 HDMI cable works and you get uninterrupted picture and sound, it is working as well as any other HDMI cable.

    Ok, no more off topic.

Hey Hey Hey, there are two members doing the testing, one for each engine. I mean I know 007 is cooler than I am, but what am I chopped liver?:pout:

The title kind of says it, but the Fedreal Government has decided for me that I am done with my testing of the eco-2 VPE.

    "How's that?" You ask.

Well I'll tell you. I just went for what I thought would be my last test run this afternoon. 145 miles up and down the Jersey Turnpike for absolutely no reason other than to burn fuel and finish my part of the test. So all highway driving today netted me 18.98 MPG. Well that's lower than my last highway/city mix tank during the test of 20.11MPG. So I stoped to thing about it for a minute and realized that it is now after November 1st. The Federal Government mandates that only winter blended fuel be pumped between November 1st and March 31st in cold weather areas. Well it's that time of the year again where we all remember that this winter blended fuel doesn't burn worth a sh!t. I got my truck in mid march last year, so I have no winter blended mileage number to work with, so I will report my latest two tanks, but they will be noted with a "*" or something explaining them.

So after I get in-touch with 007Tacoma look for our final report to be out shortly.

    1. Fact is that these are statements from a person who has no experience or knowledge of an ECO-System. Gasoline does have a set amount of energy - but how each vehicles produces and exerts that energy is different.
Here is a good sample of
Scientific proof - your EPA estimated mileage of a vehicle. This is a lab test that is scientific. However No one in the U.S. drives the way the test is run so 2008 they are changing the testing to a more real world type of driving and the EPA has stated that most all vehicles will show 10 to 15 percent DECREASE in mileage on the mpg stickers on new cars.
That is the Stickers on the new Car Windows.

    2. Fact is that if combustion chambers burnt the fuel completely, then why do we the consumers pay extra to have catalytic converters on a vehicle?
The proof of more complete burns can be done by emissions test and by checking the exhaust temperatures. These are pretty simple and affordable.
    No Chemical degree necessary!

    3. Fact is - It Is the injectors job to Vaporize the fuel and not the heat in the combustion chamber. The higher the Vapor pressure the easier it is for gasoline or diesel to go from a liquid state to a gaseous state. The injectors do a better job with higher Reid Vapor Pressures.

    4. Fact is that if your spending $100.00 a week for fuel and after installing the ECO-System you now only spend $90.00 a week doing the same commute, it doesn't take a Chemical Degree to figure out that ECO-Systems is saving money. Simple elementary Math will do.
NASA as many government agencies is under mandate to lower fuel consumption and they have tested that this is a great way of meeting that mandate without having to cut back on their operations. We have many fleet managers that have proven that ECO-Systems SAVES them Fuel, Maintenance Costs and increases the performance of their Vehicles.
Fact - That is their Job!
I will take the honest word of a fleet manager over the lab test.
Many of the Car dealerships have seen the increase in performance on the new vehicles with 4 & 6 cylinder engines, and throttle responses on the diesels and that is why they offer it as an aftermarket product to their customers.
Many people have been able to pass their SMOG tests by simply installing the ECO-Systems on their vehicles.

However do not give up your chemical engineering degree. You may have just found the First Snake Oil that works!

I did not post here to offend any well educated and degree'd engineers. We have many Engineers and Lab Technicians that use the ECO-Systems to include Chemical Engineers. They understand simple Math as well and do not mind Saving $$$$$$$.

Thanks Mav for bringing this point out. In your case you can disconnect the ECO #2 and watch the mileage drop some more and see a decrease in performance as well, then install it again and see the difference increase.
That is what I like about REAL WORLD TESTING. It is all about you and your Truck. Not a lab test or the manufacturer's claims but Real True Results!
Thanks to You and 007 again!

The best fuel saving device that I've found is my right foot. I drive like I have an egg under my foot. It must work because I'm getting 32-33+ on my '07 I4 2.7 liter.

I'm getting almost 700 miles from one FULL tank of fuel on the highway @ 65 on cruise. I don't accelerate hard at any time and the cruise control maintains a steady throttle position.

I'll say it again that there are better gains to be had by reducing drag by managing speeds and shift rpm's.

The difference from 60mph to 65mph to 70mph to 75mph are significant. For trucks especially, drag is the enemy of fuel economy.

I'm not saying that the ECO system will or will not work, I just can't personally justify the cost of savings per price of unit. That's just my personal opinion. ;)

i drive like...there is a magnet in my shoe and another under the pedal, i just cant stay off of it lol. in all seriousness now, my exhaust makes me drive much faster, i guarantee it costs me 3mpg but thats the price u have to pay to sound cool

I have to agree. I may say that my gas mileage sucks but it really doesn't have to. The reasons why I go through the gas is more towards the Rangers, S10s, and Dakotas around my area, not to mention half of the other vehicles. I just can't help it, I truly believe I am the only one in the area with a Taco. I must demonstrate the true powers at hand so that they may see their blasphemies.

amen to that, now imagine your taco sounded like a trophy truck and was loud as hell and actually sounded angry, then think about how much more gas you'd use blasting around town showing everybody why they should buy tacomas

YOU! know it would be nice if there was something that would give us an honest 2 to 3 more mpg's. But I have yet to see anything creditable any where!

Ok, so having been so irked about the winter blended fuel screwing up my last test, it took Ben to point me at the solution.

I will disconnect the VPE tomorrow, and go repeat the exact same loop with the cruise set at the exact same speed.

I will then officially consider this test completed, so I know that you have all been waiting patiently for the results thread, and it will be here soon, 007 and I are in communication as to the format of the final report and are tabulating the data. Stay tuned.

I'm sorry but I must apologize to speedemon105 for my rude post back last nite, After reading it this morning again I realized that everyone has an opinion and is rightfully entittled to his or her opinion. No matter how mis- informed it may be!
    If you go to:
    www.ecosystemsupport.com
on the Home page double click on INFO and you can see some of our test data done by 3rd parties. In fact we have received certificates of recognition for being stakeholders in the Clean Cities program which is sponsored thru the Department of Energy for our part in supporting lower emissions and becoming less dependant on foreign oil.
    Thanks,

Ah, and as comes the URD CAI and the Borla for Christmas. It's a long time to wait but it will be worth it.

    1. I never said scientific tests would correspond to real world driving. But if the EPA tested a vehicle, and then tested it again with your product, and it showed a statistically significant difference, then you would have shown me something.

    2. I never said there was a complete burn in the combustion chamber. I said it was complete enough. Gasoline can burn to the point of getting nearly all the available energy, and still leave chains of hydrocarbons that didn't completely break down. Thats what a cat is getting (in addition to CO and various nitrogen oxides).

    3. A fuel injectors job is to atomize, not vaporize. Atomization means a fine mist, ie. many small liquid particles. Vaporization means to go from a liquid to a gaseous state. Fuel injectors aren't vaporizing anything, they are pushing a liquid under pressure through a small nozzle: atomization.

    4. You are still telling me stuff, you work for the company, you are telling me to visit links on your site. Thats marketing. How do I know those people aren't just random joe's off the street?

The Labs, The Technicians, The Fleet Managers that signed the test Data and the News People are not random Joes off the Street. They all have titles and can easily be located for proof of Employment.
I however do work for ECO-Systems and I do Market ECO-Systems.
This is still America, a country with free trade and You as a consumer are free to buy whatever you want and when you want. That is what our Veterans have fought for. Freedom!!
We do not have a government that dictates what we can and cannot buy.
If you want us to get EPA certification to prove our product,
1st of all anyone who has looked into this knows it is not cheap!!!
2nd the cost of the unit would be a lot more expensive that most consumers would not afford the product.
3rd would be that just cause it worked in the lab does not mean it will work for your operations.
4th would be that the protocol of testing needs to be changed for maximum results to be proven. Testing for new cars is not the same as for used vehicles or those with high mileage.
5th is after we posted lab tests you still don't know if some random joe just posted that.

The bottom line is you do not have to do anything.
    Thanks
    Ben

I watch the video below again after reading speedemon105 posts.
    http://www.ecosystemsupport.com/Presentation/ECOSystemsCustomerPresentation.htm

I am not a mechanic so I look up REID vapor pressure online to follow along and got no where. Could you explain this to me please?

Does the coper make the fuel ejectors atomize the fuel better or?

    Thanks again.

PS PM if you want a new website. Every time I go there it kills me.

Say we have a glass of water in a chamber that we can change the pressure in while the temperature stays constant (change the temperature and you change the vapor pressure). When the pressure in that chamber is above the vapor pressure of water, it stays liquid. When the pressure in that chamber reaches the vapor pressure of the water, the water will begin to boil, and change from a liquid to a gas. After the water is in its gaseous form, if we raise the pressure past the vapor pressure, it will condense back into liquid.

This is why boiling food at high altitudes doesn't work. The atmospheric pressure is lower, so the water doesn't have to get as hot to boil. However, the food still has to have the same temperature to cook.

Gasoline vapor pressure (as the article previously linked to states) is around 7 psi. I'm not sure what the pressure of the Tacoma fuel system is, but its over 20psi.

He is claiming that by raising the vapor pressure (around a point from what I saw on his website) that somehow now all the fuel is being completely vaporized and helping to more completely burn.

If this product truly vaporized fuel, it would be harming our engines.

Remember where I said engine heat vaporizes fuel, well it does. Thats what keeps pistons from melting in an internal combustion engine. The fuel hitting the piston evaporates, which takes energy, that it gets in the from of heat from the piston. Go look on any dirtbike or atv forum for a picture of what happens in a leanout. It burns up the piston because there wasn't enough fuel cooling the piston down.

Oh, and I hope other people are noticing how he keeps talking around my questions and the points I brought up.
